Hi mickey Yes the account has been set up but is not entirely ready for use just yet, was going to finish it later, add all the info etc. The account name is Prince4Christmas and the handle is @Prince4Xmas simply because it wouldn't accept the whole name, for some reason. I hope that won't confuse people. Life Matters

I just want others to have the joy of him that we have...I'd love to see him top of the singles charts again - he deserves it...You never know, it might persuade him to come out of hiding!

Today I will be compiling a list of charities that we could support alongside this campaign, to make it all even more worthwhile. So please feel free to post your suggestions on here, stating why you think the charity you are proposing would be a good one to support alongside a Prince song campaign. . These are a few that have been mentioned so far: http://www.musicforall.org.uk/ . Another one that I think would be great is Autism Rocks. They have already organised events in connection with Prince and Prince himself had supported them before. They also organised the London Prince tribute back in June with (The Time and Larry Graham amongst others), which I attended. I have just sent them an email and I am now waiting to hear. . I think this would also help with our participation levels. . Thank you very much for your support, it's still very much needed and if you could please keep continue spreading the word, sharing on www.facebook.com/Prince4Christmas/, re-tweeting and following on Twitter twitter.com/Prince4Xmas, that would be great, we really do need each and everyone of you! . And please don't forget to use the hashtags #prince4xmas #prince4christmas, whenever you can! . . Life Matters

Following the boost from NPG Underground on Facebook yesterday, we've had a lot of votes coming in from the US. This is great (thanks guys!) but we now need more votes from the UK fans as we are not sure whether all US campaign supporters will be 'willing or able' to purchase the track in the end (there will be some instructions on how to do this nearer to xmas, should they want to give it a go). . I hope they will of course, but to be safe, best is to ensure the votes are reflecting the UK's choice as much as possible, as - should the campaign succeed - the UK is where the song will ultimately be played on the radio. So please, vote all you like and tell all your friends about it too. Thank you! . On a side note, Autism Rocks has been in touch and I am now in discussions with their founder. . I will keep you posted!

I don't get it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Many thank for the positive feedback Dibblekins. As for the vote, you are only allowed one but you can get your friends to vote too. Life Matters

For the next three days, we are going to take a closer look at the three songs that you need to choose from and give you a little background information about each one… So let’s start with the song that scored the highest in our pre-selection, Still Would Stand All Time.
The Steeles grew up in Gary, Indiana, subsequently moved to Minnesota and gradually became part of the Minnesota sound. They have recorded with many other artists including Donald Fagen, Morgan Freeman, George Clinton, Mavis Staples, Johnny Lang, Peabo Bryson and The Five Blind Boys of Alabama. In 1987, Jevetta Steele had a hit in 1987, with her song 'Calling You', from the film Bagdad Café, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1988. For those interested in reading more about The Steeles, here is a link to their website: http://www.thesteelesmusic.com/biographi…/the-steeles-family

SWSAT - well, it is an incredibly powerful song, lyrically...Never did those words seem so pertinent than to 2016 and everything that is troubling our world...It's a spiritual song, without being dogmatic or pushing one religion over another - in that sense it very much has a unifying message, one which seems appropriate for Christmas (even though that is a Christian festival).

I so agree with you. This song reaches inside and touches my heart so deeply. It brings tears to me
every time. There is real, raw, emotion and I can feel it. It is one of my favorites.

Hi Dibblekins! Thanks for your wonderful comments! Your description of the song is spot on and I might even share it (anonymously or not, it's up to you) on the Facebook page later. Life Matters

Another Lonely Christmas would b the obvious choice...

It WAS in the original list to choose from but did not get enough votes so didn't make it to the final three. Life Matters

Still one of my favourites after all these years. The words are beautiful and uplifting even though I am a total atheist. I liked the denim and glasses look from SOTT:
Unlike SISIA it doesn't bring me to tears (and it doesn't send me to sleep like SWSAT )
