Any moderator might be able to help. Militant has supported the campaign so he might be a good place to start. |

Please remember that only one purchase per buyer from each outlet will count towards the final Xmas chart, so do not overspend your money on unecessary downloads!
In terms of streaming, 100 streams = 1 download.

What must be happening is that maybe some people are choosing to download their favourite track amongst those listed. People tend to not read the small print in general... Even if the small print is BIG! Let it just happen naturally, it will be the best way to find out what the people's favourite is after all, and on a bigger scale. Also bear in mind that other people who are not following this campaign could also be buying that song too.

^This is good news indeed, though there's still a high amount of competition in the way.
So I am urging EVERYONE to try and retweet / share as much of the campaign info as possible (or at least tell people to download those four tracks in the list order) if you / they haven't done so yet.
...And of course if we could all refrain from purchasing any other potential xmas hits from other artists, until after xmas, that would help greatly!
MANY THANKS! [Edited 12/16/16 6:30am] Life Matters |

I was fired from UKMIX and SCHKOPI (the Prince fansite) lol, so I can't provide them a link.
That's too bad because ukmix will be very interested ! Uk midweek charts are released on monday. They will be surprised to find THE CROSS !

Thank you for the updates RODSERLING! It is a good start, but we must not relent just yet.
Here are the tips of the day (some of them are based on suggestions from our FB participants):
1. Leave 'The Cross' to STREAM on repeat all day/week. (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Google Play, Tidal)
2. Invite your family/friends to buy the 4 tracks for you as a gift + email them the links*
3. You can 'share' a track from Tidal or any other services directly onto your facebook/ Twitter page and invite others to listen/buy.
4. If you haven't done so yet, you can download the same track again using the outlet that you haven't bought from yet*
*all the download links are on page 1 of this thread or on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/Prince4Christmas/
If you can think of anything else, please share it on here asap.
Thank you everyone and happy downloading!

If anyone is having trouble accessing the songs on iTunes via our links, please try searching the songs (in iTunes) instead...
The links seem to work for some of you and not for others. We're not entirely sure why that is.
We still need to make more use of iTunes as none of the songs have made an appearance in their top list yet. Life Matters |

Some not so good news first: Prince is still not showing on the current UK iTunes chart. However, someone on Twitter earlier told me that 'The Cross' was showing at #65 on the US iTunes (which on the good side means that the campaign might be going international instead of national).
* see edit below
... And some better UK news now: 'The Cross' is currently #50 in the Pop and #6 in the R&B best selling songs on Amazon UK.
Considering it was only #152 and #11 in those respective categories yesterday, that is a very high jump!
So what's our next move?
->>>When you are done with downloading from all the possible outlets, including iTunes (please only do this if you have a few spare ££ left after the Xmas shopping and donations to any of the https://levelup4love.org/ charities of course) you could start focusing on the streaming next. As suggested in my earlier post and if it is possible for you, why not just let the songs stream on repeat for as long as we have left until Thursday 22nd December at 23.59. For info, 100 streams = 1 download.
That's all from me for now, well done everyone!!! 💜
Edit: 'The Cross' WAS in the UK iTunes Charts at #65, we were just not looking in the right place! I have to say, iTunes is a bit of a maze...

should have just been "Another Lonely Christmas" from the beginning. It's really the only appropriate one to consider. In fact, it's so appropriate, I find it pointless if that isn't the song. |

The song was briefly mentioned in October at the start of the discussion http://prince.org/msg/7/433965 when everyone was giving their suggestions but didn't get enough voices to make it to the final round of the selection process. Many had shared their concern that it was too depressing for this end of year. However, I do agree that it would have still worked and nothing prevents us from backing it up for next year's Prince4Xmas campaign.
I am also planning on doing another campaign in April 2017 so get your choices ready now if you want them to be included and watch this space!
