. Who cares about the rope.......it's still amazing just to be there!! . That's how they did it at Graceland, and I didn't mind one bit.

Well, at least they are letting people pose with the ping pong paddle and ball, lol ! "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

BTW, for people with questions/issues about the blue cloud guitar that was used in the photo ops...the consensus is that its a replica, not one Prince would have played: "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. I know people are excited to be here, but please have some respect! This was also his home, although thank goodness, that will not be shown for public view because who knows what some unbehaved folks would be trying to do in his private quarters! Hope to make it there someday. Love is God, God is love, girls and boys love God above~

They are real. Who is going to rope off a replica?
His handwriting to words to his music, is all over the piano, and on the corner is beginning to wear off. The keys were heavy to touch, and there is handwriting above the keys to remind him what to press during his solo tour. For example, the things written such as "John", "drums"...etc... that was if he wanted to add things to his solo performance.
I also recall reading his songwriting notes displayed... it said something like: "you know I don't like being alone". "You said we made a cute couple". The alone part touched my heart.
Next year, they may add his car collection, and there is a room that is in the planning stage to represent the "Lovesexy" tour.
There was a yellow couch to the left when you first walk into Paisley Park. This was one place where Prince when alive would sit and play his guitar. (There are photos of it) There were other chairs and a coffee table. That has been removed and it is now an area where you purchase the USB drives. They should try and leave things the way they were..... and not make it too museumy like....Fans want to see things as they were left and exactly how Prince lived. You can add displays amongst the furniture and video on walls. But they should try to keep it in it's original form. [Edited 10/22/16 10:52am] [Edited 10/22/16 11:01am] fan for life

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not odd that the "purple piano" is a focus at all, considering it doesn't carry the history nor legacy of his other possessions/instruments?
Eye-candy, yes. And he did cater to eye-candy aesthetics. And its sizable and has to remain/go somewhere, fine.
What happened to the status of this having been commissioned by Yahama for his public use and branding in ancticipation of an arrangement with Yahama that of course, was never finalized.
Specifically, has this item been purchased by the estate or is it just being left there for branding or what?
Thought I previously read it "cost $200k" and wasn't even his, was Yamaha's, but whatever.
The woman holding her hair back out of the way of falling into the (non-used) guitar to display her pose was not the first of the poor unbringing choices guests opted to display and publicize.
Nothing wrong with people asking questions about what the hell guests or employees were thinking.
Nothing wrong with someone observing that those sorts of photos were circulated by one demographic as of that time.
We're grown, we can handle those discussions just fine.

I've been wondering if it's even the same one being displayed that he had just received from Yamaha. Maybe someone knows the answer to that. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

? Piano seen in the photo ops has a lot of signifigance. Prince used it at many concerts, including '21 Nights in London' and the 'Piano & Microphone' shows.

I didn't go to the Paisley Park tour or the piano tour, and I'm only going by pictures and fan/media reports, so somebody correct me if I'm wrong... Prince didn't tour with the purple piano, only received it shortly before his death, and revealed it for the first time at the last Paisley party. The piano he toured with apparently had lyrics projected onto it somehow, as they didn't always appear on top. The piano at the Paisley tour has lyrics painted on top, as if to make it look like the touring piano. Who did that? Was it Prince before he died, or someone else afterward? The piano at the Paisley tour looks like a replicated hybrid of both the touring piano and the purple piano, in my opinion. Someone on the Housequake facebook that took the tour said they were told that Prince didn't play this piano, and the actual purple piano is displayed in another room. See my previous post for the full quotes. https://twitter.com/princ...4395328512 http://www.etonline.com/n...ect_piano/ http://prince.org/msg/7/428914 If you compare the pictures of the touring piano, the purple piano, and the piano at the Paisley tour, they all look different. Piano and a Microphone Tour piano Purple Piano that Prince received shortly before his death ^ from Prince's twitter ^ from Yamaha ^ from last Paisley party VIP photo opportunity piano [Edited 10/22/16 20:26pm] I'm replying to myself again. I was doing some more googling, and it looks like the VIP photo piano could be the one Prince played in Atlanta. He played a purple piano there, and this is also where the words appeared on the piano. It appeared to be a black piano without words at some other tour stops. This article about the Perth concert also mentions a purple piano that had to be flown in from Paisley Park, because they couldn't get his regular touring piano in time. This was before he received the purple piano from Yamaha. If that's really the Atlanta piano, I'm relieved that it's behind a rope now. https://www.pastemagazine...lanta.html http://www.perthnow.com.a...236b9c246f

It seems Paisley Park management fixed the problem. During the tour yesterday, there was a rope separating the fans from the piano and guitar. Pictures could only be taken from the wall by the huge picture of Prince.
By the way, I had fun. The staff was welcoming and friendly and I got to meet two fans who regularly attended the parties. I loved hearing their experiences and could feel their love for him.

Now, that's a great picture! You know how to pose with Prince and show how it can be done. Got the piano and guitar in there just right, too. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I think some of the people I toured with would have preferred to have their photo-op with that big Prince pic! They were quite smitten with that photograph. Can I be the party poop and say I find nothing wrong with the people who were feigning a licking Prince's guitar or posing while signing to the camera. Different folks with different strokes is all y'all. Didn't see anything that would get them kicked out even by Prince himself. “I don't believe anything, but I have many suspicions.”

You think that people putting their dirty tongues and shoes on valuable museum artifacts is acceptable behavior? Yeah, Prince would have booted them out in second. Disgusting behaviour (Page 1 photos, not the nicer stuff on the recent pages). It is this behaviour which will lead the place being shut down for all of us. I can imagine the people running it are not the most tolerant, but non one needs that shit. They should have kicked those two out and banned them from the premises. Hope Prince's ghost scares the bejesus out of them. . A minority of hood rats will ruin it for the rest of us. Typical minority ruining it for a respectful majority. Of course the behaviour should be not allowed, what do you think Prince would have done if he saw that shit. . Will they shut it down for the winter as its late October and probably already looking like Belleek castle in the Norwegian fiords with the start of the 6 month snowsdurval season there. Seriously the winter climate in Minneapolis is so severe I doubt it is fit for human habitation. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I think they'll learn as they go. Unexpected events shall bring new ideas and strategies to best run this important place. They have ropes, pexiglass, and security guards as well as rules. These might expand along the way. I'm fortunate to have seen it this past Sunday (10/23/2016) after spendng a great deal of time at Paisley Partk between 2000-2002. At that time, Prince had Friday night parties and was visible for anyone to see him close and addition to attend his jamming parties. It is a unique privilege to be able to attend. I wish most of you get to achieve that goal if in anyone's to-do list. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money.
