They don't have security in every room. To do so would be very expensive.

Where's the velvet ropes??

Why would they have velvet ropes? That's the piano people sit at to take pictures. The first lot of people to take the tour have pictures in the same place with the same objects.

I don't see any real disrespect. It's not like he's got his cock out.

I see two fans who paid for a VIP tour, Offered the opportunity to take pictures in the designated area for taking pictures. Their tour guide didn't object.

i get that they are emulating Prince's more sexually driven theatrical antics. So, I understand that. But he did not perform that way on those particular instruments, they are his instruments (not theirs) and its a sad occassion (visiting the home of a fallen musican). Maturity and class were seriously lacking in those two, but I don't think they necessarily meant it as an insult to Prince. They probably love him because of his sexuality when he was younger.

Do you guys remember when Prince was on Jay Leno with Kathie Lee Gifford. After the show, when they mention the local affliiates and prince mixed up the word "us" with the word "U.S" as in United states-- at one point during that segment, a lady shouted out "Shut up and give me Head'. Prince looked embarrassed and Kathy Lee put her hands on the two kids' ears who were also on stage and subtly told the audience member that that was inappropriate. Lesson for this story--there is a time and place for blatant sexuality. I don't usually like Kathy Lee but she was class act at that moment.

People from th first tours posted pictures in the same place.

The cloud s a replica. They wouldn't put one of his touring guitars out there for people to touch.

The piano... may or may not be a replica (maybe it should be). I don't know. However people are allowed to sit at it to have their pictures taken. So you're allowed to touch it. Prince took his piano on the road, and had a habbit of dancing on them in steel reinforced high heels... his shit was built to last.

If you're expecting 600,000 visitors a year, and one of the exhibits is an interactive photo experience, then you have to expect some wear and tear. So long as it's cleaned daily. Meh.

Should they have a walkway installed above the floor so the carpets Prince walked on don't need to be replaced due to thousands of people walking on them?

My house isn't a museum.

I haven't asked to be re-zoned so that I can allow upto 600,000 people a year to walk though my living room.

If my house WAS a museum and I expected 600,000 people a year to come though my living room AND I was selling a VIP experience where people could sit on my couch to have their picture taken... I'd accept the fact I'd have to replace that couch every 6 months.

Didn't Prince say in his speech about the next time you see me, it will be at Paisley Park and at my house we take care of each other and when you come, you need to take care of my house???
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Don't see an issue with the photos? The problem with these photos is that they inspire other fools to try and do something more outrageous. That piano sure looked real to me when I sat at it. His handwritten performance notes are on top and he even wrote some sort of performance reminders/notes on the keys.

Listen... the definition of a museum is a place where , rare, irreplaceable , collectible items are shown, ,They don't lay on Elviss couch when touring Graceland, You don't handle Ringos drums in Cleavland okay... They are not handling the meaning of this place correctly , This is a sacred environment where the management is allowing too much freedom, if staff hasent been trained properly then don't open until they are ! It should be treated as a gallery not a Dave and busters. Where the next thing you'll see is them kareokeing over one of his tracks!
This whole thing is heartbreaking, it's too soon , they don't know how to do it properly and they have untrained guides not knowing the history.. what's the rush ? Do it right or don't do it at all! Graceland opened 5 years after Elvis passed that's why it's a success , and you can be sure NOBODY ever touched or played on anything in that operation .. why? Because it's encased in plexiglass or roped off .. letting people know , that it's out of bounds , off limits..so RESPECT it!

Respectful visitors do not need permission for what and what not to do in a museum. These items are on display to be seen first and if allowed to touch, one shall do so in a respectful fashion. Regardless of what Prince would do or not, it is gis house and his terms therefore is allowed to do what he wants.

Yes, and all the important stuff in the Prince museum is exactly the same way. The Oscar is in a case.

The area of PP in question is there specifically for people on the VIP tour to take photos.

These pictures weren't taken "at an exhibit". They haven't jumped any ropes, and were accompanied by a memeber of staff. There was clearly no disrespect or malice intended by the two fans in question.

Let's be real, if they're honestly expecting anything close to the visitor numbers they're talking about then these instruments are replicas.

This is all due to the speed to get the place open, the staff are idiots & clearly clueless about Prince. All the people in the pics (there are more than these 2) are pricks for being disrespectful but so are the staff that stood by & allowed it. I don't believe the empty words of Londell or PP management because it was reported before these 2 but this still happened.

The point of a museum is to preserve and inspire. It is not an amusement park or a playground. If Management allows people to sit and get a feel of what it was like to be in the spot Prince sat for a hot minute that's one thing. I assume they have some contract in place to have things cleaned and repaired from minor wear and tear, but this over the top foolish is not appreciated or amusing. The museum doesn't allow children under 5 for a reason.
