I think these photos are disgusting but I agree with this statement. PP management is aware of the situation and said it's not acceptable. Let's move on and stop giving these people the attention they want.

i agree. for the sake of Paisley Park, we have to trust the managing company to adjust as they go and hope for the best.

even if things are getting off to a sort of bumpy start, it's important for us all to remember that Prince wanted a museum and as fans we should support the folks working directly to make that happen. i do believe management will immediately respond to this issue.

as you rightly remind us, EPE is a skilled and capable organization, well able to adapt to the circumstances and challenges of running Paisley Park.

all of this is too weird. too hard to realize he's really, truly gone. we should cherish his memory and images as preserved for the tourists by the staff.

i'm just feeling sorry we're even having any of these conversations at all because Prince passed away sad we should be talking about upcoming concerts and events instead sad

All of the cloud guitars I saw there are replicas (Schecter). The only real cloud guitar I saw was in the "Sign O the Times' room. I would question if the instruments in Studio A were swaped out too. This doesn't make it ok to disrespect Prince's equipment and house, though. Shame on the photographers and employees. Also, Don't ask too many questions, most of the tour guides are not very knowledgable. Some of the equipment looks like it was just pulled out of the garage.. lol. I'm glad P kept all of his gear. On another note, I was also surprised to see his new guitar just sitting at the front of the stage. You can pick it up for a quick jam real quick if you wanted to. Actually, it looked like it had finger prints all over it.

In my opinion, I think normally we can't touch everything, why is everything is not protected from people?

If everybody touch his clothes, guitar, piano, in one year, all of this things will be in a bad condition.

More respect for him, please.

Management schould know that mmuseums use white glove treatment to handle the objects, archives, to have fingerprints and people able to destroy what is left has got to be handled quick. I'm sure things are out in the open left unattended. As far as uninformed tour guides, if they can't get that well tuned by hiring seasoned fans or folks with real interest let them do prerecorded audio instead ,that will guide you through the experience with correct information and give a historic glimpse, instead of fumbling with notecards and being ignorant like amatuers to what there talking about. Management can take more time to fine tune this and make sure nobody touchs a guitar or lay on his last piano, which in my opinion just shows this was a quick trick ,too quick and they risk permanent damage to now what has become rare and beloved artifacts. These items need to bE preserved and handled with white gloves,to be admired for another 50 years.like Christies and Sotheby's handles fine items these items need to be treated the same.At least they put his costumes in acid free tissue otherwise, those would literally fall apart over time. And some are from the 80 s they will literally crumble in your hand if not preserved properly.

I was in the queue for the photo last week when this happened. The reaction of the 'real' fans was heavy, we reacted but it took moren than 10 minutes before someone from the security was on the place. The person who was taken the photo's didn't react in anyway, they also should have known that this is not done. Lots of people where grabbing the tambourines and did stupid things with them, putting some ones around their neck etc...I think they should put a person there who looks over the place. This was really NOT DONE ! I think those people were not Prince fans but only wanted to impress their friends with taking such stupid photo's. Please respect Paisley Park and enjoy the place with respect. A fan from Belgium. And by the way : Lenny looks much better and has a lot of respect for Prince.

They planned for a moderator on Prince.org to attempt to publically shame them for doing something a Paisley Park employee allowed? Because obviously if Luv4U hadn't started this hate campaign these pctures wouldn't have got any attention.

Hate campaign? I don't about that. Paisley Park staff needs look over their policy if they think it's ok to take pic of fan touching and climbing on items like that. It does not matter if the items are replicates or not. The issue need to be pointed out because people will demage and steal items at the rate they are running the musum.

Really? they went on a PP guided tour and did nothing the guide didn't allow. Because of that they've been labeled disgusting and disrespectful on here and on twitter.

Of course it matters if they're replicas.

If an authentic guitar was damaged. Thats bad. If a replica guitar is damaged, it's not as bad is it? They put another replica there in iit's place. No big deal.

People getting angry because fans are touching things they're allowed to touch. Lewis Hamilton (F1 Driver) paid $100k for a guitar Prince played once (it wasn't even a cloud or symbol). So the benchmark has been set in terms of financial value of instruments that actually belonged to Prince. As if the people running PP would let the great unwashed walk up and touch a piano that could be worth hundreds of thousands.

Well, its within my rights to call your mamma a big fat whore!!
But I would never say that, even if she was, because my parents taugh me about RESPECT.

Simple as that.

If I had all the money in the world, I'd buy a 1st class ticket from Australia to Minneapolis in a private jet, stay in the most expensive hotel, and purchace a VIP to Paisley Park the museum.

BUT EVEN THEN....... I would neve feel that I have the right to jump on Prince's piano to take a farken selfie like that.

WHY!? Because my parents taught me how to be a decent human being.

You can't just ignore the fact these are guided tours. Plus that part of the tour is only open to VIPs. Plus if it turned out the Piano was a replica and Prince had never touched it. Would anyone really give a fuck?

Doesn't he have a Pegasus Piano in the rave DVD? That thing must have cost him well over $100,000 at the time. You'll notice the public are allowed nowhere near it. Would they really let the public touch a piano Prince played? A piano that could be worth hundreds of thousands at auction? I don't think so.

Labeling these people "disgusting and disrespectful" is unfair. They're obviously fans since there is literally no other reason to visit. They're also not actually doing anything disgusting or disrespectful.

Yes, he does have a Pegasus, and it actually IS on display - it's in the room right before the large concert venue. Visitors can get VERY close to it, it's not roped off, but there is at least one PP staff right next to it at all times.

The reasons you don't know this are because 1) You OBVIOUSLY haven't been there, and 2) NO IDIOTS HAVE TRIED TO SNEAK PICS OF IT. no no no!

So quite an obvious difference then? People aren't invited to sit at the Pegasus? I guess that's the difference between a piano worth hundreds of thousands vs the one in the photo op room which probably isn't worth quite as much.

The reasons you don't know this are because 1) You OBVIOUSLY haven't been there, and 2) NO IDIOTS HAVE TRIED TO SNEAK PICS OF IT. no no no!

1) No I haven't been. Never claimed I had. But I knew these people hadn't jumped a barrier. The first 2 pages of this thread have people cussing Lenny Kravitz.

2) No, as we're quickly finding out, Paisley Park is not a place you go to have fun (anymore).

I haven't defended anything. But at this point it's the same instance circulating on social media. But the more it keeps circulating the more people think it's continuing to happen. I think that's grossly unfair to PP management who are aware of the issue and say they're rectifying it. I suspect some who never wanted PP to open to the public and have no time for Graceland running it are all to happy to keep this story alive. wink

The point of it being a Museum is to display the authentic items, not replicas, that's what being a museum means.
Do you think the Liberace museum was letting fools like this take photos at his mirrored Baldwin, his costumes were encased in glass and the pianos were on risers that spun around, The same with Graceland it's all authentic not replicated. And they had fans who loved them and honored the opportunity to finally see it in person. Without acting like they were at Disneyland , so even if they threw a replica in ,these idiots who dishonored what sacred opportunity they just experienced just blew it, as well as the guides there , they are just as much at fault! But I highly doubt that the cloud is a replica. Which makes me want to puke even more.

The replica guitars were dissapointing, took some of the magic away for me. I wouldn't even call those clouds a replica - they're far from exact. The tour guides pass these off as the real deal and the people in my tour were in Awwee because they thought it was the real white cloud from Purple Rain -- False! Why not just say it's a replica and that he broke the real one? I believe there is room for a lot of improvement. Hopefully, they will offer a private tour in the future.... if it last.
