-/ Well no one has asked directly if he looked sickly or thin. People who worked with him are being asked if he was high or out of it. If he was withdrawing the worst of it might have been over and he would not have been high however he did not look good and not one single reporter has asked that question.

For me, it's always his NECK that is the giveaway...

In 2009 at Montreux, his Adam's Apple was very prominent - and he was incredibly thin - it was around that time (possibly just before) that he appeared on a French TV show perched on a stool, rather than bouncing around as was his usual MO. I wondered if that was the time at which he might have had the hip surgery which has been mentioned before.

In the build-up to the P&M tours, his weight loss was similarly evident. When his neck could be seen (ie not hidden underneath polo neck jumpers), it was frighteningly scrawny. When a person is healthy, their neck does NOT look like that.
