I'm beginning to get annoyed at phatphucks big empty responses after I post something. He takes up too much space and it's all useless. I think it's time for a ban .
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

We don't get to decide who to ban. I appreciate his opinions. He cuts thru the b.s. and keeps topics from becoming one sided. That aside it's difficult in general reading this thread because the replies include previous quotes and there are lots of comments that are a mile long including some of mine which I hate. I need to do better with that. In any case it seems as tho tone in here is much less heated than it has been so let's try to keep it that way and continue to respect one another. This latest news has opened up the wounds many of us are still nursing. For me the hardest part of this whole thing isn't so much that he was self medicating or why, but my regret over the fact he was alone in the end. And he should still be here. On top of this grief now I'm also thinking about the loved ones of the other 48 people who died from fentanyl overdoses already in Hennepin county this year. My heart is so heavy over the latest news. Sorry for the long post!

It is not about banning anyone he just needs to knock off those long post and stop posting the same thing over and over again that in some cases is totally wrong. The stuff about famous people not having wills. The information in that is wrong. Why get posting it?

Good work on your font background phatty! It seems like you're really keen on visiting Paisley Park in the not too distant future. Let's just hope you don't get too hungry when you approach the urn eek omg

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

Alright, don't go attacking me because I know some of you may not want to think about this or have other "theories" but I've been thinking about something lately and just want to throw it out there as a possibility. I was reminded of an old memory the other day about a family member and it got me to thinking about the possibility that similar circumstances could have occurred with Prince. This person was taking opiates and other substances (xanax) and actually forgot that he had taken the pills already. He took more. And heck, maybe even more! I happened to walk into the kitchen and he was there stark ass naked eating cereal and looking like he just rolled out of bed (and it was the middle of the night). When I informed him that he was naked, he nonchalantly walked into the laundry room, got a long sleeved shirt and put his legs into the arms and wore them it as pants. LOL. (Today I can laugh). The next day, he had no recollection of this and seemed perfectly normal.
Since there were other substances in P's system, is it possibl that he took something earlier, got groggy, got up and put his clothes on backward and then took another dose that was the fatal pill? I am really bothered by the fact that h was in the elevator and it's my understanding that that fentanyl would have killed him quickly.
Thoughts?

Ok, the scenario you're describing sounds like your relative actually took Ambien (not Xanax)...which is used as a sleeping agent, but is technically a "hypnotic". I'm not saying that I know your relative took Ambien, but rather asking if you know for a fact it was Xanax and NOT Ambien(?) My father is a pharmacist and I have done extensive research on this. Ambien puts you in a state of mind where, when you wake up, you have no fucking recollection of what transpired while you were up, but under "hypnosis". I personally have never taken it, but do a little research of your own and you will find the same. P did have benzo's in his system (Xanax), but I also know for a FACT that Ambien(Zolpidem) is NOT something that is ran for on a toxicology report (if you want it ran for, they can re-reun the tox...the blood is usually stored for up to 1 year). You may have a point here.

That was funny. I appreciate all input in what could have happened that night or any kind of explanation to all the mystery around his death. That's all we want , is to know what happened to our beloved.

Nope. I have other stories about Ambien (lol) but not in this case. It was Percocet or Roxycette (and I'm not sure of the difference) in high dosage and xanax. Btw, I've known quite a few who have taken ambien and will never touch the stuff again.

Gosh, I'm so sorry that you had to witness something so upseting like that. I sincerely hope that family member is in good health now, and off of the opiates.

.

I take medications, and it's always been a rule of mine that if I have any doubt whether or not I took my meds, I will skip that day -- I only take one pill a day, and that is always in the morning, when I get up, so I don't usually forget. But I think that it's best to skip that day if you don't remember if you took it or not. Usually missing one day will not cause any issues.

.

As I say: Better safe than sorry.

.

It is quite possible that the other drugs in Prince's system could have contributed to his state of mind and he could have been confused, and took another pill, which was a lethal dose of Fentanyl. Was he just so "out of it" that he didn't know what he was doing? We can only assume.

Yup! Something like that could certainly explain the claims of Prince supposedly being found with his clothes on askew.

Thank you, Clover. I have seen much, much more and lived through it even though there were times I thought I wouldn't. Today that family member is in recovery, happy and healthy.

On the subject of other substances in P's system, I believe it was stated that there was Xanax, but now that ambien was brought up in the conversation, what about that? We know P was given a script for something and it was stated that they don't test for this substance unless you request it? There are several drugs that are similar to Ambien, all are sleep medications. Is it possible he was having difficulty sleeping and this was prescribed? Even more reason to suspect that he could have accidentally taken something he shouldn't or more than one of something he trusted was safe. It could certainly explain why friends would insist he was not an addict, that there was more to the story. It still doesn't take the manslaughter charge off the table as far as the tainted pills but could be a reasonable explanation for P's actions which seemed so opposite of what friends perceived.

Thank you to Disch for posting all of the information above.
I came away from it feeling (once again) that there's a good possibility that Prince was trying to self-detox - but just couldn't do it outpatient - and gave in (took one of the pills the eve of 4/20).

I came away feeling as though he really thought he could do this on his own, as he was always very strong. But certain substances have such a physical component to the addiction that it's not possible outpatient. The longer a synthetic drug is used, the harder the detox.

As soon as I heard months ago that he had been agitated in the days before 4/21, my instincts told me this. It's hell to get through, even with days or weeks in a hospital with someone taking care of you.

My poor Prince. We love you.

This is Adrian Crutchfield who played sax for Prince for the last four years. This man is making it clear that in the four years he worked for Prince he was not a drug addict. He has some experience with drugs do to selling them and having many families that are on drugs. He said he can spot a drug addict in 10 minutes. He also has some other statements that are very interesting. Let's try a listen to what people have to say who interacted with Prince on a daily basis.

Don't you just?

It got so insane, it inspired me to kick-off my latest pet project.

It's coming along nicely, if I must say so myself : د ) I'll be tidying it up with some improved functionality this weekend.

Instead of having to manually type in usernames to be ignored, the proggy itself will instead use a black list to automatically eradicate any number of questionable posts.

How ironic is it, that six or seven annoying members have inspired the most useful pet project in my weekend maker project history? HaHaHaHa! Neccessity is indeed the mother of invention ; د )

I am glad to hear that family member is in recovery and doing much better. It's very sad and heartbreaking to see a loved one deteriorate and go down that dark path. I wish you and your family member strength and God's love. heart

.

Yes, you are correct. Usually, when they do a toxicology, they are looking for certain things, so like you said, it's possible they could have missed something. If they took tissue samples, they could run tests again, under the families request.

.

If Prince was prescribed Ambien, then he was probably really out of it, and then took the illegal Fentanyl. And like other's who have stated here; maybe he was so out of it that he didn't know what he was doing?

.

That is what makes all of this so very hard to believe; because those that knew him said he didn't use drugs, nor did he show signs of drug use. People say he was always in a good mood, full of energy and happy.

Thanks for sharing that link with us, Laura. And, yes -- Adrian seems to have a lot of info on Prince and I respect what he is saying about Prince not using drugs. I have read many articles from people who knew Prince and I never read anything that suggested, "Yea, Prince used drugs.".

.

Like Adrian said, sure Prince was in pain at times, but was he an "addict"? No!

That 3121 could be read as 4/21? I don't see numbers the way some people do. But Prince sure used 7 a lot.
