I love all these women on this and the previous thread! Wonderful, strong, unashamed and sensual/sexual that only LIFE (and Prince) could ever give us. We are true beauties, ladies, all of us and nobody can ever take that away. Prince would be in our corner on this one...he'd be the one fanning us down - only to work us up again!

It is one of the things that he loved doing and none of these phonies complained when he was doing it. Now some hypocrites wanna break out the chastity belts. lol

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

*This is a gif of Prince himself. It is not a body double or a photoshop or something made up by middle-aged women and we are going to comment on it as we see fit because it is NOT against the site rules to do so.*

I wonder what chord progression he was using on the piano during this performance?

I dunno....probably started with "F"..... biggrin

Following what Terriq has said upthread about this, I actually really do want to know if you seriously think you can make this distinction between sex and music when it comes to Prince. We mostly weren't discussing his sex life - we don't know shit about it - we were mostly just expressing our appreciation of his unsurpassed sexiness...and yes we can giggle about gifs of his dick (why the hell not)...but its not really the issue, because as she says, the sex is in the music. Prince knew this...he knew his guitar sounded and felt like a woman coming...and that's what he wanted it to sound like, he did it, deliberately. Do you not hear it? Do you not understand what we are responding to? It's all the same thing, the groove, the grinding, the gasping and panting and groaning and shreiking, the come faces, the fucking guitar stands, the hip chain, the leaving his packet on full display his entire career, the never ending guitar climaxes, the ecstatic orgasmic funk...it's all completely soaked in sex, every note, every groove, every shred, every move he ever made...all of it. We don't need to see the images...the music does exactly the same thing to us...the gifs are just a bonus and a way for us to share with each other...but the idea that what we're doing is distracting from the music by focusing on sex is absurd...maybe this is just how we communicate with each other about our experience of the music...and our experience of the music is that it designed to get us as hot as all hell and it delivers. And maybe you don't get that, maybe it is different for you...when I listen to men talk about P's music, I do hear something very different...and that's fine, I don't go around sending Peach and Black irate letters saying that they're missing the sex of it and so they should stop...they're talking about what speaks to them, and we're talking about what speaks to us...and what we're trying to say is that Prince was speaking to us, and he knew exactly what he was doing, and he knew exactly what effect it had on us, and he loved it, and so did we...and you don't get to police that, or tell us that we're doing it wrong, and you don't get to interject yourself between us and Prince when we know full well that we are understanding him perfectly, and the fact that you think you do get to do that is because you're a man and we're women, and so you're used to thinking that what you experience about something is more valid or true than what we experience, and us, and Prince, are like, fuck that noise.

Dunno. I did think Bonatoc had a few good things to say. He and I were basically in agreement on one thing: talk about sexuality all you want, but "Prince in the bedroom" makes it a little too personal. It seemed (and notice that I say seemed) as if a lot of people here find Prince's sex life more important than his music. That's what I wanted to say and I said it. And yes, it seems like I touched a nerve there. So what can I do? As I said before, I'll say what I want to say and you can say whatever you want to say about that. As George Clinton said, censorship is far worse than anything anybody might have to say. I was a little surprised that all the ladies were getting so worked up about my little post, I felt like a little male spider ina web full of black widows. wink But that ain't gonna stop me.

But see, here's the point...if a group of female fans are enjoying talking about the way P applied eyeliner and as a man you could care less about that, fine. But for men to stomp into a thread about P's makeup artistry and because they want to discuss guitar riffs they complain and complain about makeup discussions being embarrassing to his legacy and demeaning to P's family blahblahblah.

I'm not out to force anyone to look at and analyze P's makeup...or his sexiness.

I'm not interested in how to play guitar riffs. Why continue popping into a thread where y'all are enjoying talking about that then complain?

The topic is on the subject line. Not interested? Fine. Let those who are interested enjoy. We weren't fighting, arguing, nothing...simply peacefully enjoying the sexy.

Haters.

Just catching up on the comments in this thread and the returning gifs wink. So glad we have strong, intelligent, articulate women up in here who tell it like it is thumbs up! . The whole thread deletion thing really irks me mad . Prince was all about freedom of expression yet this same freedom which was in every note of his music, his clothing and his awe inspiring performances are not to be discussed or celebrated by us his fans who he performed for nuts . That really is some bullshit!

Yaaaaas...PREACH!

And the best part is that all of us women, even those of us who have vehemently disagreed in other threads on other topics, we were PEACEFULLY one in that thread enjoying the sexy of OUR P. We were PEACEFULLY United in our grief, but also in our joy.

Shame on you, Boneatoc for making that dirty.

It wasn't dirty.

Oh, it was definitely FILTHY, but it was never dirty.

And as for smelly tambourines, they all were grooving to P and smelling like freshly bathed yumminess, starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam...

The only dirtiness came from your mind, not ours baby...

I LOVE this thread !!! It's sooooo inteligent and humerous (LMAO).

All my life I have listened to and watched men (ugly ones at that) drool over NFL cheerleaders, Victoria's Secret catalogues, Playboy bunnies, and even sexually charged tool and car ads.

They don't like it when the tide is turned. Prince was the most sensual man I've ever seen and one of the most beautiful too - and he wasn't afraid to show it.

I say you go ladies! Keep up the excellent work! And if that makes me a smelly tambourine middle aged teenager so be it.

Forever I've tried to explain to men that as woman, coming out of a P concert I felt like I'd been rode hard and put away wet. I was boneless. Throbbing. Too overestimated to have real life sex.

Too...errythang. sooooo

THANK. YOU!!! worship

Sheeeit, lemme go open up ma GIF file and put on ma damn WalMart glasses up in here.

Forever I've tried to explain to men that as woman, coming out of a P concert I felt like I'd been rode hard and put away wet. I was boneless. Throbbing. Too overestimated to have real life sex.

Too...errythang. sooooo

P wore me out in concert . Even before the days when he'd bring audience members on stage to dance.

Powerful![/quote

Exactly!

That really is some bullshit!

highfive

Prince said himself that sexy never left....

(Don't wanna derail, but u ever read 'The women's encyclopedia of myths & secrets' by Barbara G. Walker? If not I highly recommend it. Along with 'Women who run with the wolves' by Clarissa Pinkola Estes)

thanks for the heads up....will hit B&N and pick them up!

P.s.: Why can't Prince's music and his sexuality be appreciated? Thinking it has to be one or the other seems a bit short-sighted, especially given the artist in question. And if there have been threads on Prince's "women" and they were allowed to exist and thrive, then yes, we are talking about straight up sexist management.
