The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that PP tour dates have been announced. According to the article, PP tours will be held tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday, then again next weekend. Apparently, Chanhassen City Council heard from fans who had already booked to come in for the tribute concert tomorrow, and you guys made a difference for P. Thank you.

They said the will be refunding the tickets. I got an email saying they had been cancelled last week, but still the refund hasn't come. They offered if you wanted to or could go on a date that was being offered instead (October 6, 8, or 14) you had to repurchase tickets for the new date.

So, will Paisley Park be officially open for public tours in 2017 after the Chanhassen City Coucil resolves all their issues? I hope so. Prince would have wanted it to be open.

I don't want to hijack the thread or anything, but out of curiosity, why doesn't Dylan count?

I don't want to hijack the thread or anything, but out of curiosity, why doesn't Dylan count? He doesn't count for me because he left Minnesota and pretty much never looked back. Even though Prince had homes in LA and other places he never really left Minnesota. He didn't build Paisley Park in LA he built it in a Minneapolis suburb. And for the last 6 or so years of his life he called Minnesota home. That matters to me. Paisley Park is in your heart

Makes perfect sense. I'm not from MN, and I admit that I don't think of MN immediately when I think of Dylan; it's more his words swirling around in my head when he's mentioned. I do think of him as a Midwestern poet, though, especially in his perceptions of himself and his writing. But, yeah, when you think of Prince, you think of MN, too. It meant more to him I think. Both of them are playing with personas a bit on stage and in their writing, but I guess all performers do that.
You also have the writer Louise Erdrich, who is not as famous as P and Dylan, but who has maintained her connection to MN with her bookstore in downtown Minneapolis. She's won many, many writing awards over the years, and is a pretty major figure in the literary world, but yeah, your average person probably hasn't heard of her. But when I think of MN artists, I always think of her, after P of course. [Edited 10/21/16 7:31am] [Edited 10/21/16 7:39am]
