What's really going on here hmmm , there's threads about this issue all over the place. This thread was originally a sticky and the other thread which is literally about the same topic has been moved to fan gatherings. Makes no sense at all!

Paisley Park tours temporarily approved despite rebuke from city council

Not going any more. They waited to long to release that info that would could tour so I cancelled my trip and now it's too late to rebook. My ticket to Paisley Park is for Friday Oct 7th and they are not open that day! I am so going to just move on from this. Costly crap. One council member told me out his own mouth early this morning there would be no tours. Then they say check back for updates. Waited too long for me to know if I'm getting on a plane in 2 days or not and I have a hurricane to deal with. I will probably not ever go to PP. Need to get on with my life

sad that's sad. maybe in a year's time the museum will be up and running and you might feel comfortable enough to return? i think it would be worth making the trip once things are in place for the tours. sorry this didn't work out for you

I just watched the ET clip from Paisley Park. They were getting a quick tour, and they get to a wall, with all his records, concert tickets and other framed items. Its stated that behind the wall is the elevator where prince died. sad So they evidently built a whole new wall to shield it completely. Seems like it was very close to the doors leading outside. Surprises me a little....I always assumed it was back in the back somewhere

I was watching Al Roker this morning on his facebook live stream and the elevator was still there if it's where I think it was. Had a black curtain in front of it and the elevator part on the side was painted over. So no wall in front of it that wall is on the side of where it is.

So, I was originally scheduled to VIP tour on 10/13. I got the email from PP today and re-booked VIP for 10/14. This little change was incredibly stressful. Whew! I'm glad I was able to re-book.

After telling my wife (she's attending with me) via text, she replied. "That's great, baby. I was starting to get worried becuase I didn't want you to be disappointed becuase I know that Paisley was the only reason that we're going to MPLS."

Then, I watched the clips from the today show. Paisley looks good and, yes, I want to see it for myself.

After thinking about this, I started to feel sad. Perhaps my response to my wife will resonate with some of you here...

"Yes, you are right. Paisley was the whole point of this trip for me and I'm glad that we still get to do it. Don't get me wrong, the Tribute Concert will be good. But that isn't Prince. This silly tour through a building is the closest thing I can get. Sigh. Very sad now. So, what I'm left with is this Paisley tour + this Tribute Concert + 1,000s of files on my computer + vinyl + really great memories. It was all just a moment, I guess... A really fucking great moment."

Paisley tour or not, that moment is over. From that point forward, I will just be looking back and not looking forward (to the next show, release, etc). I will figure it out, but I'm guessing many here feel the same way. I'm afraid that, no matter how fantastic the tour is, or how fantastic the tribute concert is, or how fantastic MPLS is, I will be disappointed. Disappointed that the moment has passed and my hero is gone.

Between now and 10/13, I will be working hard to figure out how to make this trip positive and fun, as opposed to sad and disappointing.

Fuck you, Grief. Fuck you.

Agree, feel the same. I want to be in the home where Princes spirit and energy thrives. I did have VIP, but am now stuck with Gen Admission. I hope it includes the purple room. Did anyone watch ET tonight? Very errie that Tyka said she knew for 2 years his time was coming to an end. Prince told her he did all he could that there wasn't much more for him to do. I hope Prince wasn't depressed in the end.

I'm very sorry to see that some of the fans aren't going to be able to see Paisley Park right now as there is an issue with the zoning laws. This should have been ironed out before tix were sold. I just saw the Entertainment Tonight segment and think that the Park is gorgeous. I hope someday to make it there and be in the same spaces that Our beloved Prince walked/talked/sang/laughed. I, too, will try to make it a positive experince but it's going to be hard. I was at first taken aback by what Tyka said about Prince's death, that she must have had a premonition. It was a strange statement to make so soon after his passing.

For those of you that are going to get to see PP, I wish you all the best time ever. Don't shed tears, friends, it's not what P would want. He would want you to have the grandest party ever! Make that house SHAKE!

I had VIP tickets until this screw up, now all I could do is repurchase GM tickets. I want to know what the difference is in what it includes.

Have you seen the new Paisley Park Instagram? They have some pics up.

Other threads that should be moved to the fan gathering forums:

- the one about prince's photographs. Because in some of the pics your might see more than one fan, thus a fan gathering.

- the whole concerts forum. For the same reason.

- the one about his sexuality. Because statistically some of the fans he shagged must have met at some point, thus becoming a fan gathering.

- the one about your favourite song in Come. Because I bought the CD at the same time as my friend Bob, thus making us a fan gathering.

- for the same readon, all the threads about any release ever, just in case there were two fans buying it in the same shop at the same time. A fan gathering.

- the one about the debates in the Politics and Religion forum. Because on voting day there will be fans queueing together to vote, thus making it -yes, you guessed it- a fan gathering.

- every other thread in any other forum that has more than one person contibuting to it. Fans gathering in threads which are not in the Fans gathering forum? I ain't having f it!

That's BS. Things ain't a "done deal" unless papers are signed, simple as that. Full blame falls on the estate.

There is no more Paisly Park, there is no more Prince. That place now is only a celebrity museum. I will never go there again. My business there is over.
