He says in "The Rainbow Children" that the woman and five others were banished...from the rainbow...forever. Maybe that's about Mayte, maybe not. But it sure fits the narrative and timeframe.

Mayte just said on Hollywood Exes they didn't talk. She said they had no (surviving) children so there was no reason for them to speak. Kinda like anyone else after a breakup. I don't speak to my ex-boyfriends. Most people don't probably for whatever reason. Doesn't have to be that you necessarily dislike the person. You simply don't speak because life goes on. I don't know if they were on "good terms" though. Seems like things might ended suddenly or possibly without closure (for Mayte) based on rumors and things Mayte has said over the years. Mayte also said on Hollywood Exes that she ran into Prince at a party in L.A. She said she went up to him and told him she "forgave him" and that things were cool. She wanted them to be able to see each other and have it not be awkward. She said he looked at her like she "had 3 heads". Maybe he was shocked she forgave him? Why she felt the need to forgive him is a mystery. There's speculation of course but that's their business.

But I don't think they tried to get back together. Prince wanted the divorce per Mayte and it seems like he moved on swiftly with Manuela. They were married a year after Prince divorced Mayte I believe.

From what I heard at the time, Mayte was pretty much abandoned in Spain by P while Mani was at PP wearing Mayte's dresses and running around with Prince well before he was divorced.

I do think Mayte could have been his soul mate, though... and she certainly seemed to look out for him when they were together as much as she could.

I seriously doubt she cheated on him. No 2 people grieve the sane and 85 percent of marriages end in divorce after child loss. It's probably Larry graham's fault for introducing P to a religion she wouldn't convert too...and mani swooping in like a lady in waiting who would convert. Thus was his grief path....religion. If mayte cheated because of rave then jayz cheated because of lemonade...

Agreed, I was just saying this recently. Her going on a televised reality show is the ANTITHESIS of how Prince conducted his affairs. It probably grossed him right out. It's very...common...so to speak. What the common people do. Royalty doesn't air their dirty laundry for public consumption!

WOW! Yes. Cart before the horse. I don't think she cheated. I think it was all a big mess and no one had the emotional maturity to sort it out. I feel so bad for Mayte. When I see clips of them in interviews, or the chemistry they had on stage, it feels so clear to me that she was THE ONE. It just hits me in the gut. Very different than all the others. It was a palpable spiritual bond. But the human side couldn't handle the maturity that was being asked of them. That's how I see it. And Prince doesn't stand around waiting for the weather to change. He made a call.

Thinking about Prince and Mayte cosmically finding each other, being TOTALLY head-over-heels in deep abiding love, then being torn apart, and moving forward in life apart, for so many years -- and them him dying SUDDENLY with no obvious closure -- just makes me feel CRAZY. I sure hope they get it on up in heaven some day and recreate their family with Amhir. It's just so heart-wrenching, cuz those two people were meant for one another, That kind of love is magical. They ARE family.

Seriously, Nelly seems far more bitter than her daughter ever did. Mayte seemed utterly heartbroken and stuck in the space of being traumatized.

I never knew about Manuela, for all I knew she fell to earth and was a basic rebound. I was floored when they married, but she's a classic "aspirational type". I believe the reason her and Mayte could be friends was because Mayte knew she had nothing to do with their marriage breaking down. Prince had already abandoned Mayte in Spain.

Eric Benet is one dumb motherfucker- Crazy Berry(who couldn't keep a man if you stapled them together) and now this one! SMH After Prince,he was an easy mark,no? She was just looking for the come-up. All those young non-profit types are.* She always looks like she's holding back a smirky "Fuck You" in her pics. It hurt my heart when she dumped Prince. He was blindsided. I also felt that that was his harvest for handling the Mayte situation so badly.
