These publications weren't wrong about Charlie Sheen and issued blind items before he confirmed it was him.
the thing with the aids rumours is, i could very easily see some casual hanger on, some guy who isn't really close to prince working for him and seeing him in bad shape and starting a rumor of aids. I don't discount some terminal illness i really don't, in fact, i keep saying i'd rather believe that than believe he got addicted to those stupid drugs, but until we have more proof we don't know. someone will come out with it. I keep saying, that they tried everything they could to say elvis died of a heart problem, true, but the real cause was diet and drug it came out. |

Do you remember that at a certain point a lot of Fed cars suddenly showed up at PP for a search? I was wondering...what if he had a bottle on which Percocet was written, and instead there was Fentanyl inside? Maybe they already knew the result of the toxicology report and they were looking for something...maybe a bottle of Fentanyl that had been hidden somewhere? Maybe they wanted to find out if it was prescribed (In a regular pharmacy bottle) or if it was purchased elsewhere. Just my 0.02
That's exactly what was happening. They knew the results within minutes of autopsy.
From what I have learned it wasn't pills it was patches. |

I fully understand the medical examiner's report, which is what I was referring to and the death certificate.

I'm more inclined to agree with your view about the drug use.
-
He was 57 and to me in that picture he looked older, not old, but older. He was also very thin by then, and he had changed his eating habits. Earlier pics of Prince in the late 70's show a very healthly, muscle defined body. But by the time the 80's came around, he was much thiner and by the 90's he was significantly thinner. (Edited to add that drug use can age you too. Nobody seems to mention this. I have never seen a healthy looking opiate addict).
-
The other thing is that at 57, you do try to mend fences, you really do take stock of your life and as you get older, I think that people tend to either care more or not care at all. At least that is my experience of people I know.
-
But of course, we can go round in circles all day long. Like you said, we will never know. People just are not talking.
-
For some reason, I think that its his earlier frinds/bandmates who know the real deal timeline wise. Rather than those who were around him of late.
-
And of course, I could be wrong about everything. We all could be wrong about everything.
[Edited 6/8/16 3:13am]
I agree with all your points, blue22. I wanted to also add to the mending fences comment: There were some recent deaths around Prince such as Bowie and Vanity. When people pass on, it gets one thinking about their own mortality and reflecting. I also think that may have been part of the reason for the bigger push in the most recent months for Prince to seek out help with getting off opiates...like maybe he was thinking about what could happen to him if he didn't. That is just my opinion, however.

I so agree with you both. I think we can all agree that he looked older and not in perfect health in that pic. It's hard to imagine what he'd look like without the makeup.
.
Personally, I think most of the photos that have been released in the past couple of years are either from far away, or have been retouched (I recall he wouldn't allow Rolling Stone to photograph during their interview a couple years ago, and he instead provided them with a retouched photo).
.
However, considering his work ethic and lifestyle, sleeping habits and taking opiates for who knows how long; he looks damn good! I just feel bad that knowing how vane he was it must have been very hard on him to visibly age.
Eventually every cloud runs out of rain. |

Neither of these artists have had the grueling work schedule that Prince has had in the last 40 years, either. Hence, the reason that Prince is an 'icon' and they are 'the friends of an icon'. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have produced more than they have been the actual performer and that's an entire different arena altogether. |

The first pic is from November 2015 and the second is from January 2015. He looks more dehydrated in the first pic. So, there is just like 10 or 11 months in between there. In November...maybe there was a lot of stress going on too as he would be gearing up for his tour. I take the touring into consideration too...the preparation, rehearsing, etc. as another stress factor on top of everything else. As you get older, not sleeping, not staying hydrated, and not eating well will show up your face more than when younger. Your skin can't bounce back as well as in youth. And yes, this is all speculation too I realize, but I'm not looking looking at him like he's dying because really, I don't think so. Also, I couldn't find a pic of him without the glasses, though. Maybe someone else can find/make a better pic comparison.

James Brown, age 73 with a history of performing 350 times a year, not including rehearsals, recordings, and hard living.

I don't discount that either but they say aids anytime someone gets sick so I don't necessarily believe it. The thing that really kills me about the AIDS rumor is that it came from The National Enquirer. The same magazine that published pics of some guy dressed in some funny clothes and claimed that they were pics from the security camera in Prince's elevator. I'm not even comprehending how this rumor has legs. |

i think someone from P's camp started it, because reports of an unnamed black celebrity were hitting the internet even before Prince had the plane incident. I've seen a couple times in my own life when someone might get sick or lose weight, whispers start about aids, that's just average people talking, i could see the show biz world being even quicker to draw those conclusions. |

James was a hardworking man, i don't think anyone worked as hard as Prince but James is the best contender. As far as age and looks, Prince looked excellent up until the last couple years and even then, for a man in his mid 50's he still looked damn good he just didn't look like the same Prince that we're used to. |

only reason it may not have hit me harder was that I am pretty worn out from Prince. I always assumed Ali's passing would have me to the point where i'd want to be alone for a few days but I just am pretty exhausted from losing a guy I fully expected to watch at least into his seventies. |

Here's how reliable the Enquirer is - not! The same article that said Prince had AIDS put his weight at 80 pounds. The ME report said what 112. So there ya go. Critical thinking when reading ANY newspaper is smart but some almost don't deserve a read... they might have an accurate story twice a year.
I knew someone who worked for the E -- friend of a friend -- and he'd boast how he'd make up stories that they'd publish.
