Had anyone posted this? Couldn't find it on search. http://www.latimes.com/bu...story.html Investment home of late pop icon Prince is priced like it's 1999An investment property owned by the late singer-songwriter Prince is currently for sale in Chanhassen, Minn., at $335,000.
The renovated ranch-style house came to market in January, roughly three months prior to the artist’s death. Carver County records show that the property owner is Prince R. Nelson, the legal name of Prince, with tax records going to the address of Paisley Park Studios. Set on about a quarter of an acre, the single-story home has an open-plan living room, a dining area and an updated kitchen in more than 2,500 square feet of space. A family/rec room dressed in purple has one of two fireplaces. | |

This actually makes me feel physically sick. I'll never buy anything Prince related again if that happens. There is no way Prince was not aware of this possibility, just no way. Last time I ventured into this thread there was a report that correspondence regarding a will was found so one may exist but hadn't been located. I will never believe Prince didn't have one. He was obsessed with owning his stuff he would've seen what happened with MJ & the Beatles catalogue etc. This really stresses me out! I dread to think what will happen. I mean look at how the vultures are still bleeding Jeff Buckley dry with his tiny catalogue! | |

I know. This is such a tragedy. I won't give the record companies any of my money either regarding Prince. I will be happy with the music I already have. | |

Nonsense the estate can flourish just like the Jackson, Marly, and Hendrix estate, The family has already brought in L.Londell McMillian and Mr. Koppelman. At some point down the road like 20 or 30 years maybe the family will sell the publishing because none of his siblings are spring chickens but if the sibs have children they are capable of finding good people to run the estate.
Keep in mind the Marley and Hendrix states got off to a bad start but turned around later and those families are still reaping the benefits. | |

--- Because Leo Bratton was Civil rights attorney who knew nothing about the entertainment industry. Prince' estate could be run like MJ's. | |

How many properties did Prince own in all of MN? One day I read online that it was 35, now all I see is 15 in chanhansen. Anybody know for sure or what public domain I can find them in? | |

If you figure out what county Chanhansen is located in MN you could try the County Auditor or County Recorder. I am assuming most of the properties are listed in a business name rather than Prince's name. | |

. Not really. This is one of the homes he bought for personnel to stay in (cheaper than a hotel). He didn't live in it.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me. | |

Not searchable by property owner, just a GIS front-end with decent parcel data. | |

Why do you think he was selling it? We know from Sheile E that he was collecting items so he can turn Paisley Park into a museum. It just looks like he was shutting things down. | |

WHEN will the monetizing begin? On what are the estate managers waiting? Taxes are due in January. Also, I don't think it is inevitable that the family will have to sell his catalog. That's what the vultures want, but if the folks in charge of his estate are on the up-and-up, this will not be necessary. Lastly, I would bet good money that Prince had an estate plan...and it is being suppressed. | |

I read an article that said Prince changed attorneys almost yearly. I also read a statement by one of those attorneys and he begged Prince to prepare an Estate Plan and/or Will, something, anything and Prince refused to do so.
If an Estate Plan, Trust or Will was made surely an attorney would have come forward by now, indicating he/she prepared one, and that they have a copy. Each state has their own requirements/rules for attorneys, and the state I live in requires we keep a client's file for a minimum of 7 years. I do wills and I have never destroyed copies of wills (I keep them forever in strorage). Prince hired high falutin attorneys, surely they would have kept a copy of any documents prepared for Prince.
I know someone mentioned above that Bremer Trust said they found correspondence about a will? I cant find that statement anywhere. I have read the exact opposite. Bremer Trust said they have looked in every box, drawer, nook and cranny and have not been able to find one.
I have several theories as to why Prince didnt draft a will......1) he didnt want to sign a contract; 2)for some reason peeps think it is bad luck to draft a will, or he thought he was going to live for many more years, and would draft one later; 3) Prince wanted to have the last laugh and let the vultures tear each other up because it wouldnt matter to him any longer after death; or 4) he knew there was the possibility he had a child(ren) and wanted them to come forward and take the proceeds of the estate instead of siblings.
Even if there was a will it would probably be contested. For example, what if he made one while married to Mani and he left everything to her? HA!
There is no will..... [Edited 7/12/16 17:48pm] | |

There is no will..... [Edited 7/12/16 17:48pm] --- I think he may have put money in trust. Someone correct me but I believe Trust do not have go thru probate and you can put in clauses to shut people up about it. | |
