I try to keep up on a daily basis with the Minnesota Probate filings. There have been 15 claims filed by siblings/half siblings/decendants of Duane/possible children, along with 8 claims from distant relatives, and an additional claim by the crazy lady as described above. None of the possible children have been identified other than the "you are not the father" inmate.

However, in the filings, probably due to error by the attorney (because the Judge has sealed the records), I found a filing where an attorney is representing an individual in regard to a possible paternity claim.

I was able to figure out the name of this possible heir by deduction. I havent heard of this individual before. I investigated further and found a photo of this person, and shooot, maybe it is a child of PRN. It is NOT Capriccio C or that other guy on YouTube with the side photo.

Do I sound like The Enquirer?

I hope and pray there is a child heir of Prince, so that his estate does not go to his siblings. Am I so wrong in wishing this? Do I need to stop drinking wine and lurking on prince.org?

--- We had all better pray that the estate goes to the heirs at least they are willing to work with bank to try to straigten things out them some kid who knows nothing and will blow thru the money. I like to think if he had kid who would have set up trust.

Noooo!

Please post your findings in more detail so we can try to verify, comment, etc.

I found this guy

Dude is Estabon Bennermon. He is from updstate New York. His attorney put his name on the legal documents but these docs were not sealed. So this is the only one claiming to be a child of Prince who will be publicly known. It also states that he is a faternal twin raised in foster care in his on-line bio.

What do you guys think. I think he looks nothing like Prince at all.

it seems these guys go out of their way to emulate Prince's look, and they are all in music too. Possible, but anything is possible really. don't think so.

EDIT: I HEARD SOME OF HIS SONGS, AND IF VOICE CARRIES OVER VIA DNA, THEN IT IS A NEGATIVE ON PATERNITY. DON'T THINK SO......

I refuse to believe that there's no will.

I suspect that it's been found and destroyed by parties who might benefit from it not being found.

What puzzles me is, unless it was handwritten by P without usr an attorney then there must be an official who helped him make it. WTF hasn't that official spoken up?

Even if a will was officially filed years ago, if that was the only one in place, it would legally be able to squash the current claims, no?

Okay, I get it now. These people make these false claims for notoriety. In my opinion, he looks nothing like Prince. When I was in high school and wore my hair short and curly, someone told me I looked like Prince. lol (I'm female btw) But guess what? I would never claim to be the offspring of someone when I know that I am not. My brain just does not operate that way)

You made an important distinction, you mentioned that you have a brain.

I think these people are lacking in the brain department. Lol

They should send them all to the Maury Povich show. I'd love to hear him say, "Prince is NOT the father!"

Maybe the will is in a safety deposit box.

And I hope they are checking for accounts in any cities he lived in OUTSIDE the U.S.

Estabon's attorneys filed objections to the protocol for determining heirs. Apparently he was adopted and Bremer Trust argues that adoption precludes him from DNA testing. Estabon wants DNA testing at his own expense to determine if he is or isnt the genetic child of Prince, and to bar further legal expenses.

Thanks for doing this. Please give us a heads up if you see something that attention needs to be drawn to. I have a hard time keeping up with Prince's estate and working at the same time..... Plus there are other legal professionals on Prince.org that can give their two cents.

As I have said before: This is a massive estate. If everyone in The Purple Army keeps their eyes and ears open for any estate happenings, we will be able to stay on top of the news.

RIP Prince. We will NEVER forget you. Thank you so much.

According to Minnesota statute:
"Within six months after appointment, or nine months after the death of the decedent, whichever is later, a personal representative, who is not a special administrator or a successor to another representative, who has previously discharged this duty, shall prepare and file or mail an inventory of property owned by the decedent at the time of death, listing it with reasonable detail, and indicating as to each listed item, its fair market value as of the date of the decedent's death, and the type and amount of any encumbrance that may exist with reference to any item."
https://www.revisor.mn.go...=524.3-706

Bremer Trust was appointed as Special Administrator of Prince's Estate on 4/27/2016. 4/27/2016 plus six months = October 27,2016 for the Inventory to be filed.

BUT! You will discover, if you haven't already, in the World of Law there are exceptions to every rule. It is very easy to ask for an extension of time to file the Inventory for an estate. Plus Bremer Trust was appointed "Special" Administrator of Prince's Estate so it will be very easy for them to request an extension from The Court. But approximately 10/27/2016, we should either see the Inventory OR a request for extension of time.

Bremer Trust and The Court wants to get this right the first time. From everything I have read/heard, they have the utmost respect for Prince's estate and they want to get this right the first time. Plus they are aware that The Purple Army is watching their every move! =)

Seriously, Prince's estate is going to be litigated forever! James Brown passed in 2006, he had a will, and I think it is still open or may have just resolved within the past year. So dont expect Prince's estate to move too fast. And you are correct @rap, the Court will allow extensions on filing an inventory.

Every state can differ a little when it comes to things like this. I wanted to research it before I answered you, rap.

The states are striving to become more alike, with a uniform probate code. But there still are some differences.

Question:

Is the estate reporting about their work every now and then?

I was very surprised Estabon's objections were not sealed. It may have been the attorneys did not designate the document to be sealed when it was filed. Regardless, Estabon is saying he is not certain whether he is or isnt Prince's son because he does not have access to his adoption records due to state laws regarding adoption.

Estabon also states in his objections he just recently established a relationship with his biological mother and her family and this is how he learned he may be Prince's son. A business associate of Prince's (what's that mean?) verified the affair between Estabon's mother and Prince in 1984. The business associate offered to set up a meeting between Prince and Estabon prior to Prince's death but Estabon feared rejection and stated he needed additional time. Unfortunately, Prince passed away before Estabon got to meet him.

Bremer is stating sorry, not sorry, you were adopted and you already have a legal father and mother and cannot participate in DNA testing. Estabon's attorneys are saying Estabon never had a say in his adoption, and they believe Prince did not waive his parental rights when Estabon was adopted (if in fact Prince was the father).

Whether the Judge allows DNA testing for Estabon or not, I am sure this will be appealed by all parties.

Irrespective of the messy details, I think everyone needs to be prepared for the inevitable: the legal obligations facing all of the parties (Bremer Trust, individual heirs, etc.) will require monetizing -- to the greatest extent feasible -- the value of Prince's estate.

In today's entertainment industry, this means many things that Prince would never have allowed, and that are not consonant with his artistic values (or even the expectations of many life-long fans), are going to happen.

I hate to say this, but I can't imagine that in the long run, his family or associates will be able to retain ownership of his catalog. In all likelihood, it will end up in the control of the major labels. That, more than anything, is the tragedy of his failure to prepare a will.

In the process, the industry shackles that Prince worked so hard to change for his own benefit, and that of others, will simply be reinforced.

Business as usual, as if he had never endured the struggles of the last 25 years.

This, for me, is the hardest thing to accept about his death: the fact that the legacy he worked so hard to build, will be lost.

Certain information, such as Social Security numbers and birth certificates, will be confidential.

Eide’s order takes effect July 11. Filings by people claiming to be children of Prince will continue to remain confidential."

You can keep up with the events of Prince's Estate by:
1) googling "Prince" in daily news - you should be able to sort through the results that pop up fairly quickly;
2) check here, at the Org - Prince's fams run to their computers quickly when a new tidbit becomes known; and/or
3) check The Court's daily filings <this is probably THE best thing to do. Here is the shortcut link for you: http://www.mncourts.gov/I...elson.aspx <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
That is> wwwDotmncourtsDotgov/InReTheEstateofPrinceRogersNelsonDotaspx
This link will take you DIRECTLY to Prince's Estate filings and you can read them on a daily basis. Usually the day's filings are posted the following day by 4pm. Some days there isn't anything to read; some days there is a little; and some days, there is a LOT to read!

I still wish Prince had done his Will. Have YOU drawn up your will?!?

Who needs to watch soap operas?!? This estate has a little of EVERYTHING!!!
