UK-based charity Autism Rocks will be honouring the musical genius, Prince, by hosting a tribute show starring CeeLo Green, Mark Ronson and Morris Day & The Time at the Eventim Apollo.

Known for his hit ‘Forget You’, CeeLo was mentored by Prince and will be performing live in his memory while DJ and ‘Uptown Funk’ creator, Mark Ronson, will bring the house down with one of his legendary DJ sets.

Put together by Prince in 1981, Morris Day & The Time will also be paying their respect in a special tribute.

Proceeds from the night will go to the Autism Research Trust which raises funds to support the Autism Research Centre at Cambridge University.

Have you got a link to the presale? My understanding was that tickets were going on sale next Monday.

MI wonder if Ronson is now citing Prince as a major influence of Uptown Funk? Probably, conveniently.

Sounds like it would be a good show anyway. Will be nice if the Time do some shows on their own whilst in the UK though.

Hm not sure I can make it

Mark Ronson alerady gave props to The Time as an influence on this record at the Brits last year I think.

is ceelo cancelling his US dates to come to this? he is/was scheduled to play the belly up in california and the phoenix crescent ballroom on 24th / 25th june.

.

also hoping morris day and the time add an earlier date that week (or they expand the tribute to three nights) as i can't make either of those dates. sure it will be great fun for those who go!

Hopefully the rumor about him doing a Elton John/Princess Diana tribute for Prince isn't true. Would hate to see him butcher "Uptown" in a new rendition of "Uptown Funk."

This is really cool and there's no need to spread hate. I'm not a big fan of Ronson but they are honoring Prince, as long as Ronson doean't mix Uptown Funk with any of Prince's songs (i.e. Uptown) then everything is going to be fine. I'll say this that in order to make a good pop song, you sometimes have to take bits and pieces of music that you've heard in the past or music that influenced you and you incorporate into the song you're creating, which is what Ronson has done. Plus, he's always shown gratitude for those that came before him. Have fun UK fans.

It's great they are doing this, and for a very good cause too!

Pricne would approve (forget those Mark Robson hangups, everyone's testifying -- that's what you should zoom on).

Please, no ragging on CeLo or Ronson. They have always proclaimed being big fans. Personally, I'm hoping for Morris taking on lead vocal on Uptown Funk. Full circle. They are going to groove, we are going to smile and enjoy.

??

Who needs him to say it? If you hear the song you know it. Besides when he won the Grammy he thanked Prince specifically

This really hit home with me. My younger brother Isiah has autism. My brother Isiah's all time favorite song is Prince's "Let's Work" (extended version). My brother don't talk much, but he yells the lyrics and beat to the entire extended song. If they perform "Let's Work, I may bawl my eyes out. One thing for certain, if it's televised, I will definitely be watching with my younger brother. :')
