Bite the beat, it tastes so good
Bite it till you're satisfied
Ain't nothin' wrong with dancin' all night long
You can still be dignified

When I first saw your teeth
I knew you were the only one qualified
To bite the beat, don't try and call your mother
Just bite it till you're satisfied

You can do it, bite the beat
(Bite the beat)
Come on honey, bite the beat
(Bite the beat)

Work your body, make yourself sick
Come on, bite the beat of the star
Don't worry, you'll still be dignified
It tastes like caviar

When I first saw your teeth
I knew you were the only one qualified
To bite the beat, don't try and call your mother
Just bite it till you're satisfied

You can do it, bite the beat
(Bite the beat)
Come on honey, bite the beat
(Bite the beat)

Bite the beat, it'll do you no harm

Unless you choke on a guitar string
Peanut butter, false alarm
I wanna dance, I don't wanna sing, now check it

Uh, uh, bite the beat
(Bite the beat)
Come on, baby, bite the beat
(Bite the beat)
Don't be shy, bite the beat

Don't try and call your mother
(Bite the beat)
Bite the beat of the star
Bite the beat, it's so, so yummy
(Bite the beat)
It's tastes like caviar
Bite it

That's right, there'll be no more wet dreams for Brenda
At least not tonight
Come on, bite it, ha, ha, ha, ha
(Bite the beat)
(Bite the beat)
(Bite the beat)
(Bite the beat)
Bite it

God, I wasn't ready

lol true, but ya know to add a little more spark to bust into Head(a very familiar song) by that time would have been a hot follow up to Bite the Beat or Nasty Girl

U mean Vanity and not the 'White Girl' right? lol

Actually Morris & Vanity stayed in touch, and I think they both did a song on each others albums.

It is so funny, the support group effect: All of them were friens and supported each other Brenda Susan Vanity Morris the Time Jerome Jill

Which white girl? Brenda? She's clear, but no, Vanity.

Urban Dictionary: white girl

Urban Dictionary
slang name for cocaine more often used in school so teachers aren't so sure what you're talking about.

here is an excerpt from an interview that Denise did several years ago:

As for why she left and didn't do Purple Rain, Denise said one of the reasons was money. She was only being paid $250 a week and Prince wasn't paying her for the tour they went on, or the fact that "Nasty Girl" was such a hit. "Prince was taking all that money and I thought 'you know what? This is adding up to nothing. I'm living out of a hotel-I gotta go' ". When asked if she had regrets about not doing Purple Rain, Matthews said she didn't and revealed that Prince wanted to pay her just $5,000 for the whole movie while she was being offered $300,000 to do ' The Last Dragon' movie. "I said,I'm outta here-that's the best you can do? bye". "It was just to hold me so I couldn't go anywhere. You know what I'm saying, so I couldn't do anything with my life ".

.

Living out of a hotel? I thought she was keeping his bed warm until she left.

I think Susannah Melvoin is the only one that lived with him. Vanity never lived with Prince.

Vanity was gorgeous but had no talent! After 5 mins. on stage even the GUYS lost interest in Vanity 6 and were anxious for The Time and of course Prince...

I heard that Prince left Vanity because he suspected she was using drugs again and also over an argument about a movie that she was willing to go topless for.

Do any of us REALLY know? Relationships are complicated

I think it was the presentation of the show for the most part, most major stars will bore you if it is just them singing in front of a curtain.

They should have been given a stage set up. Something similar to the Nasty Girls video, dress the Time/Jill Jones in black suites with buttons on the pants and the tuxedo ruffled shirts and shades. Maybe some Morris Day interaction

I think the stage set was it, the musical set moved pretty fast.

But Vanity had a charisma that she was able to hold that position. Jill Jones has the voice but I don't think she would be able to front a band. She shined as a backup though

I have to check out her albums.

She recorded two solo albums: 'Wild Animal' (1984) and 'Skin On Skin' (1986).

'Wild Animal' is a disappointing album. The production is sterile and her vocals throughout are lousy. The only really good song is "Mechanical Emotion",which is also the only track that has "the Minneapolis sound".It also features Morris Day on the chorus.Songs like "Flippin Out" and "Crazy Maybe" suffer from terrible lyrics (all written by Vanity) and bad vocals.

'Skin On Skin' is a much better album.Motown brought in some songwriters this time and as a result,it's a "real" album this time. The first single,"Under The Influence",is sexy, lush and inviting.....arguably her finest single. On this album, she sounds better vocally.

On Wild Animal: Pretty Mess (lol), Mechanical Emotion, and I LOVE Samuelle. But now, oh Lord, I need a break.
What?

I'm not kidding biggrin
I really think it's Prince with a fake beard. The style of playing is close to Prince's style and very different from Jesse's. The show is also un unusual in that it has Bobby Z on drums and Fink on keyboard.

Vanity 6 (Front Cover)
Make-Up is the sixth track on Vanity 6's first and only album Vanity 6. The track was written, produced and largely performed by Prince (as was the rest of the album). Five months after the album's release, it was included as the b-side of He's So Dull, the album's third single, and soon after also the b-side of Drive Me Wild, the album's fourth and final single.
While specific recording dates are unknown, initial tracking took place in Summer 1981 at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio in Chanhassen, MN, USA (during the same set of sessions that produced Wet Dream, Drive Me Wild and I Need A Man). The tracks were intended for an album titled The Hookers, which was abandoned in Fall 1981, and which later evolved into Vanity 6. Vocal overdubs by Vanity and Brenda Bennett were added in Spring, 1982, when the band had evolved into Vanity 6.

Ah now remember I don't think there is one weak Bside from the 1980s lol
I've always liked how Bsides at times fit or responded with the A side cut
I just thinking of all the other songs that might work the album better
