It upsets me that Mj use to get a good laugh out of that performance. He would repeatedly play it for guest of his for laughs. Smh I knew James never cared much for prince & I believe Mj knew that.

Anywho R.I.P.

It's hilarious, though. Even as a fan watching that, the whole thing is funny and cringeworthy. Especially the glove being thrown back. I read that he played Under The Cherry Moon in his theater for a laugh too, LOL!!!

Bubbles is a sweetheart. Momma Kate, however, is a gangster in disguise. I heard she also rigged the prop to come down.

EYE don't find ANY of it funny AT ALL! Did MJ know he was the laughing stock of my community with that acting performance in the "Bad" video? Acting along side Wesley Snipes on that bus being teased? It was hilarious! Anywho R.I.P MJ...

I'm sure MJ didn't give a fuck about being a laughing stock in your community over a music video that is still considered iconic to this day. I can tell you this much, though: Prince sure did care about being the laughing stock in the UTCM movie, and the Graffiti Bridge movie, and the 3 Chains O Gold movie. It was hilarious! Anywho R.I.P KCOOL. lol lol lol

let's be honest,though....most of the female Prince proteges don't have amazing voices smile Jill Jones was one of the few who could actually sing.

Was? You do realize she's about to release a new album?

Several years ago, there were rumors about a Vanity 6 TV movie in the works eek

Does the world really need a movie about 80’s pop group Vanity6? Well, someone obviously thinks so because a made for TV movie about the group is apparently already in the works. The brain child of singer Prince, Vanity 6 was suppose to be the singer’s answer to Rick James’ Mary Jane Girls (read up on the rivalry here). The group put out one album, Vanity 6, that went on to produce the hit single “Nasty Girl.” However, lead singer Vanity (Denise Matthews) left the group and was later replaced by Appolonia Kotero.

Check out the press release below…

^^we had threads about it here on the Org and I suggested that Nicole Scherwinger (or whatever her last name was, lol) could play Vanity.....Ashanti would make a good Susan, and Pink could play Brenda...lol

I doubt that either movie will ever be made.Let's face it,there is only a small segment of the population who even knows who Deniece Matthews is.Hollywood wouldn't invest in a project that would only appeal to such a small audience.

It could be released as an IndieMovie or something, I think it could be marketed right, and be really good

It's a shame that Vanity 6/Apollonia 6 were a short-lived group.I would have liked to see more albums from them and to see how they would have evolved.I'm sure the lingerie would have disappeared (lol) and Prince would have presented them as a more "respectful" group, with nice evening gowns on and probably less sexual songs, lol.

Here is the perfect next look for the 1985/86 Parade era, I can see Vanity is the Madam in the opening scene in UTCM

I've said this before....Vanity would have been a perfect addition to the TV show Dynasty. Can you imagine her playing a strong, bitchy character who's not afraid to go head to head with Alexis (Joan Collin' character)? smile I bet it would have been really thrilling to see.

U don't have 2 watch Dynasty 2 have an attitude biggrin

It was a very popular nightime soap opera in the 80s.By 1984,it was the higest rated show on television. One of Prince's other ladies,Troy Beyer, appeared on it...you can see her on this picture,in the very back, far right.

Vanity would have worked with the Sexy MF who got dumped for Princess Mayte. It's a small world.
