Wrong. Prince isn't an act signed to any label. He has a specific deal with WB for "Purple Rain Remaster" and future remaster. WB agreed to release AOA & PLEL as well, but he isn't in the stable of WB artists- he's a free man to take his new projects wherever he wants.
Then why did he state in his twitter posts that WB passed up on PHASE 2? |

Then why did he state in his twitter posts that WB passed up on PHASE 2? You may have missed the earlier comments that he offered "Phase 2" to WB as an "olive branch". WB doesn't have first right of refusal on future projects; it was offered. "Olive Branch" because the Remaster project partnership & promotion of AOA/Plel soured. |

So there's still some sort of (slow) negotiation going on? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

He's speculating his ass off! Prince SIGNED back with Warner Bros! That's why Prince repeatedly tries to go through them! I don't know where that person is getting his info, because it was publicly announced Prince signed BACK with Warner Bros! The problem is that Prince is an flop artist now. The quality of his new releases has been complete shit, which is why they only sale about 7,000 - 10, 000 copies worldwide! That's less than what an amatuer garage band would sale! That's why WB refuses to release anything by Prince now, because it's just not profitable. Prince had alienated his once enormous fanbase (by sueing his fans at concerts, internet, magazines, including this website, also repeatedly cancelling projects), and he alienated future fans by banning his work from the internet. Prince also can't sign with any other major record labels, because he don't honor contracts he signs, even though he took the money! Prince painted himself in this corner. He only has live shows as an source of income, because his days of selling music by compact discs are over. The Artist Formally Known as Successful.

Just a simple conslusion from what I read.
Every new album could persuade WB if the album(s) are great enough. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry. |

And so are you
It's not a fact that Prince resigned with WB in 2014 to get his masters back?
It's not a fact that WB didn't release PHASE 1?
It's not a fact that PHASE 1 sold under 10,000 copies?
It's not a fact that PRINCE has sued his fans, fansites and has limited visibiality in the internet without a copyright complaint from NPG records?
It's not a fact that PRINCE tweeted WB passed up on distributing PHASE 2 and PURPLE RAIN REMASTER??

Yes it is indeed a FACT that he RESIGNED TO WB in 2014 to regain his masters back.

And so are you The mind of a Prince fam is quite interesting. Please point out where in his statement that he is wrong. Prince isn't a flop artist? Prince didn't sue his fanbase? Prince HIMSELF didn't tweet out that WB had HNR in their possession and aren't releasing it? Seriously... |

No one said it did.... But in all honesty, if sales correlates with the greatness of PHASE 1... I'd have to agree. |

He plans selling PHASE 2 first to the people who are attending to the PIANO & A MICROPHONE gala at PAISLEY PARK... But I hope that means we will get the physical release soon... Before we see it going for absurd prices on eBAY. |
