Putting together a mixtape now doesn't mean he didn't really believe that albums matter when he said it, or that he doesn't still believe it now!

This is not a comment on the album ... I've not had a chance to listen to it yet (beyond the 30 second preview snippets of each).

The Tidal business model really is a load of crap.

It's bad enough that they bundle the two albums together as one download, but they take no account of international exchange rates.

I want to get the FLAC version of the album, and to download it in the United States costs $27 but to download it it in the UK costs £27 or to put it another way $41.

If they'd had a sensible business plan, that allowed me to purchase the album I want for a reasaonable price, I would have purchased it. But seeing as they've made it impossible for me to purchase the album for a sensible price, they can go flick themselves ...

I'll just download it for free using other channels.

Plus the HitnRun concept makes it fairly clear to fans that this is not so much an Album with a capital A but more of a no frills song collection.

It's like... just because you believe in dressing to the 9s for an evening out doesn't mean you can't rock something more casual in the afternoon. Both are equally ok, it all depends what you are setting out to do.

I would throw my money at Prince if he could find a more successful way of promoting his music. Having said that, Tidal and Prince will get my money again because of this release.

CD manufacturing is dirt cheap these days.

If the album only sold 1,000 physical copies, that'd still net £10,000 and the majority of that would be profit.

That's a bit harsh... I've had a couple of free trials, but I have also bought Phase 1 and now Phase 1 and 2. I hope in your eyes I have at least a bit of integrity. I'd be devastated if I didn't...

I think you will like this one - how do you not just get a free trial with Tidal to listen to it. Only just up to Black Muse, but what I have heard so far - fucking ace. Poor Josh! I'd like better artwork rather than the South Park stuff but thats a minor gripe. Musically it is so 'him' bits reminiscent of other songs etc, and lyrically not as retarded as some recent offerings (yes, I know Baltimore is on there)...

Gonna keep checking Amazon as I need to buy this one - other than the singles and listening to on Tidal I never bothered getting phase 1 (cancelled my pre-order in fact after hearing it).

I've done my free trial already and don't care enough to sign up again.

I did another one for the video he was putting up yesterday (as I have two email addresses)... nice little surprise today eh! And some other stuff I wanted to check that's come out recently too so win win.

I come on here every day and the majority not all of you are a bunch of complaining bitches.. Sorry but not to be rude but in the last 24 hours we get a 20 min concert and a brand new album. Does it matter if we had some of the tracks? So what if we did you take that away the album is solid, not many other artists are as prolific as Prince. In the last year we have had 4 new albums name another artist that dose that? You complain when nothing comes out and you complain when it does. Everything sounds mixed and mastered better to me. Extraloveable, too.

Most of it does sound good but Screwdriver sounds horrible in comparison to the rest. It sounds overloaded and distorted. Then again it sounded like that from 3RDEYE Tunes from day one. I also purchased Screwdriver and RRLA from Purple Music and they sounded 10 times better imo.

Overall the whole thing flows well even with Screwdriver in there. I'll be honest it's not my favorite Prince sound with all the horns. I'm more into heavy guitar, poppin bass, and heavy synths personally. That said Groovy Potential has been one of my favorites and I'm glad to see it get a more proper release.

I need to listen to again before I ramble off anymore opinions. I will say I would have been much happier if Baltimore was left off and Free Urself was included. Never liked the Baltimore track from day one musically or lyrically and I really liked Free Urself. Not a biggie since we did get Free Urself anyways.
