June reminds me a lot of Reflection, one of my favorite recent Prince songs. (Does 2004 still count as recent?) It has very unusual song structure, lyrics that are now personal and stream-of-consciousness than his usual lyrics, and a different tone than the rest of the album. I can see how people don't like it though. Maybe I like it because I've also burned pasta before and felt like an idiot!

I quite like Reflection, especially the live version, so maybe I should give June another go. I have not personally burned pasta, but I have burned sausages which certainly has the potential go into a pasta dish, so failry close. I have of course all burnt porridge, but that is a no-brainer, anyone can do that.

This is exactly what Prince should have done decades ago, maybe he didn't know how, idk (New Powersoul, MPLS etc.).

Contemporary sounds and styles add to the vocabulary of musical expression. So there's absolutely no reason why not to make use of them.

With the help of Joshua Prince actually made a step in the right direction, the collaboration seem to broaden his sprectrum of musical expression even more. I do appreciate this very much.

The only songs I have some problems with are:

.

Million $ Show - no Prince vocals, lots of brimborium, but not that great of a track in the end

Like a Mack - not much substance, lots of "hey, hey, hey", energy loss

1000 Xs and Os - still kinda lightweight and harmless as the original, the new arrangement didn't help that much

.

Mr Nelson - first section doesn't really fit, but the rest is nice

June - a little bit undecided wether this one fits, could be from another project

I love Reflection and it also gets me a bit emotional when he mentions his mother, as I lost my mother not long after. The live version with Wendy was a real sincere sombre moment

honestly anything he does of which i might be dismissive is instantly forgiven/forgotten if i watch that video.

The biggest problem on the org isnt the extreme opinions. From gushing sycophants to vitriolic haters and everything inbetween, all bases are covered on the org. What gets my goat up is the people who fucking complain about other peoples opinions and how they express them. These are the people that should be ignored, not the contrasting opinions which you label as trolls. Because these complainers are the people that form little gangs and start slapping each other on the back for complaining so well. "Well said, Im with you buddy!". Before you know it, they are hunting in packs and trying to get the whole fucking org sensored so that it only expresses THEIR views. Some of them even follow orgers around just so they can chime into a conversation with a complaint about their opinion every chance they get.

I am happy with KCool dribbling and wetting his pants over how incredible the latest masterpeice is over and over again. I am also happy with KS foaming at the mouth and telling me how steamy he thinks the pile of shit is over and over again. Its all good. Its all fair opinion. But the fuckers that complain endlessly about other orgers expressing their opinion grates me up the wrong way. They are the real trolls on this site and they add FUCK ALL substance to any conversation except their own dick sucking ones.

Totally. And to me, June has that same wistful vibe.

I've seen people compare June to both Reflection and Way Back Home (which I also love) but it doesn't seem as touching and personal to me.

I'll have to try it again, alls I hear is him burning his pasta. And to clarify when I've burnt pasta its been in spaghetti form, which I believe is easily done when it's hanging over the pan.
