Most of the reviews have been very very positive and far better than AOA
By no means a classic and far more commercial that recent stuff but 1000 X's and June are superb.
Wasn't too keen on Shut it Down but does grow on here after a few listens.
What has surprised me is Mr Nelson is the only one I skip.
I have been a fan of Prince for over 25 years and there is always 1, 2 or 3 tracks on an album I would skip so whilst it is no classic I only skipped 1.

Totally agree. Unfortunately the org is full of trolls now and a lot of people that love to hear themselves talk and have no clue how irritating they are being with their constant troll comments and not bringing anything of substance to the actual conversation. . What this site needs is a IGNORE button like on FB so you can never see posts again from these trolls! [Edited 9/9/15 6:27am] The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I quite like Reflection, especially the live version, so maybe I should give June another go. I have not personally burned pasta, but I have burned sausages which certainly has the potential go into a pasta dish, so failry close. I have of course all burnt porridge, but that is a no-brainer, anyone can do that.

Heard it, finally. . This is exactly what Prince should have done decades ago, maybe he didn't know how, idk (New Powersoul, MPLS etc.). . Contemporary sounds and styles add to the vocabulary of musical expression. So there's absolutely no reason why not to make use of them. . With the help of Joshua Prince actually made a step in the right direction, the collaboration seem to broaden his sprectrum of musical expression even more. I do appreciate this very much. . The only songs I have some problems with are: . Million $ Show - no Prince vocals, lots of brimborium, but not that great of a track in the end Like a Mack - not much substance, lots of "hey, hey, hey", energy loss 1000 Xs and Os - still kinda lightweight and harmless as the original, the new arrangement didn't help that much . Mr Nelson - first section doesn't really fit, but the rest is nice June - a little bit undecided wether this one fits, could be from another project . Good job, Mr Nelson! [Edited 9/9/15 6:43am]

I love Reflection and it also gets me a bit emotional when he mentions his mother, as I lost my mother not long after. The live version with Wendy was a real sincere sombre moment

honestly anything he does of which i might be dismissive is instantly forgiven/forgotten if i watch that video. . . . . . . . . this is why we're so harsh sometimes.

Only 100% positivity allowed here! "June reminds me a lot of Reflection, one of my favorite recent Prince songs. (Does 2004 still count as recent?) It has very unusual song structure, lyrics that are now personal and stream-of-consciousness than his usual lyrics, and a different tone than the rest of the album. I can see how people don't like it though. Maybe I like it because I've also burned pasta before and felt like an idiot!" "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I GET IT NOW . . . . HITNRUN IS LIKE ME TRYING ON HOT PANTS. THEY'RE ILL FITTING, THEY LOOK STUPID, BUT IT WAS SOMETHING FUN TO DO, WE ALL HAD A GOOD LAUGH, AND I CAN TAKE THEM OFF AND DRESS APPROPRIATELY AT ANY TIME. . . . . HITNRUN IS PRINCE'S HOT PANTS (although they would probably look fantastic on him)

I've seen people compare June to both Reflection and Way Back Home (which I also love) but it doesn't seem as touching and personal to me. . I'll have to try it again, alls I hear is him burning his pasta. And to clarify when I've burnt pasta its been in spaghetti form, which I believe is easily done when it's hanging over the pan.

i admit...i was quick to express my disappointment because after loving AOA, i expected something totally different than what HITNRUN is...i was expecting Prince to sound like Prince, so i was not prepared when Million $Show sounded like Katie Perry singing a Beyonce song...i was impressed with Shut This Down as a 2015 MyNameIsPrince...but from that point until the last 2 songs, i was disappointed because the songs either sounded like current pop trends or they were old already (X' face, Fallinlovetonite, TCBU)...1000 X/O and June are good but by then i was sad...after hearing the album repeatedy, i accept that measured against the current music availble in todays market, it is a fresh shiny new sound for P, and he has earned the right to experiment...in other words, the album doesnt suck at all...it just wasnt what i expected or wanted...forgive my selfishness

. This thinly veiled statement indicates you're a homophobe. That is a stance that is politically incorrect these days. This person made the same comment (just not backwards) earlier, and Militant snipped it. He/she should be banned now. Not only is it a blatant personal attack (and homophobic) but it's also flagrantly violating a moderator's actions. Question my opinions all you want. But sheer personal attacks like this are out of bounds. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"
