This song makes me make that face I used to make as a kid when I spun songs like "If I Was Your Girlfriend" and "Sexy Dancer" and "All The Critics Love U in NY" for the first time. It's like a fuck face but it's also a Prince face. So I'm gonna call it a Puck face.
Thank you Prince for helping me find my Puck face again.

Hot song, love it! Yes, the lyrics are dopey, but musically and vocally it's sexy as hell. Love the guitar. I need an extended version of this. cool

The very beginning reminds me of "My Jamaican Guy" by Grace Jones. Anybody else hear that?

The song is okay, sounds like an AOA outtake to me.

Some interesting moments, but it stops just when he should start tearing it up. A lot of Prince songs do this lately.

I did like the STARE sample better, made me hungry for some funk!

Wish he'd get a little more inspiration from the band, he should play with the 2009 or 2011 band again!

Now that I think about it reminds of a mix of Mazarati's Strawberry Lover and Lonely Girl on Bourbon Street.

The new Bilal is better than this song though, as much as I like it.

Thanks for the heads up on THAT, I didn't know about the new Bilal. Looking forward to giving it a spin! wink

It's amazing.

You may want to add Miguel's Wildheart to your playlist too. It's impressive from beginning to end.

Well the song has potential. It seems a bit unfinished. And the production isn't very good. It's OK in the quiet parts, but it seems that whoever produced it tried to inflate (compress) everything to the point of instruments having to fight for a place in the mix, especially in the busy parts. As a result the snare sounds like a faint thud, the orchestral hits are pushed to the background, the kick feels like it's buried in the mix, and in general the song sounds like a mess in the busy parts.

The entire song seems to be based on Em D chords.. yet somehow P seems to make it work

Besides that, I guess it's a cool song. Nothing too earth shattering though.

I agree it seems a bit unfinished but still very good, this is probably a demo smile The finished version will hopefully end up on the album and be longer

Hm... #different. But is it pleasing? Not sure. Cool atmosphere, nice build, and I definitely like storytelling in a song. But the lyrics seem a little corny, with some fairly dated concepts. I feel like only handful of people, including the fictional protagonist of this song, are really loving hard rock these days. Maybe I'm just agreeing with the "life in a bubble" comment, up the thread a bit. Maybe I should have had my coffee first. Is it better with coffee?

Life in the bubble Its his life as a rock star which none of us are. If you have been to a show, ladies damn near orgasm when he plays a solo..shrugs

Plenty of rockstars can relate on a "regular" life level. It's just hard to listen to a guy in his 50s talk about strawberries and whipped cream.

Because people in their 50s are not having sex especially rock stars!!! If you think that I want to sell you the Brooklyn bridge. Prince is writing about the life he is living something he has been doing for over 30 years. Cool Funky Cut that puts the young cats in their place.

The more I listen to it the more I like it. After a couple of stinkers in Baltimore and What If and an average track in The X's Face, he's pulled one out the bag with this. The guitar, bass, vocals - brilliant. Bit different and exciting.

I still don't think you have a grasp of the meaning of "masterpiece". The word is used to describe an artists best piece of work. Not a good or even great piece of work, but, specifically, his BEST piece of work. How can every single recording be his masterpiece? Please pick a different word that more accurately desribes your enthusiasm. Pretty please, sugar on top, all that... wink

Eye was offered a deposit, from someone that wanted me to stop using that word 4 a particular period.

R U going to outbid it biggrin

Nope. Go ahead. Keep using it even though repetition contradicts it's definition and renders it meaningless... lol
