The Computer Blue "EP" is worth the price of admission. Otherwise I more or less agree.

Thanks for posting this! Great info. I remember Richard, and T, posting to AMP all the time years ago.
btw I never had in any interactions with Richard but I did with T. He's a cool guy who knows what he's talking about and also has lots of interesting stories to tell.

. If Prince hadn't been an ass we'd probably have a wiki by now that detailed all this. But who wants to invest his time and money into something that will inevitably get you a bunch of lawsuit threats? . So here we are now. . Note how the NIN community doesn't have these issues. © Bart Van Hemelen

As I said Richard still visits here but has a lifetime ban for some reason. Do you reckon it would be possible to get his account reactivated because it would be great to have him and his kwowledge in discussions on here.
I got two sides... and they're both friends.

The original statement wasn't sarcasm, only an uneducated guess. For the last time we DO know who T is and he's not Tony M. Also, we know quite precisely which sets of outtakes have been leaked by T over the years and the recent leaks are not by him (if only because, as pointed out by BigChick, they're a mess and T has always leaked well organized collections). Tony may have leaked some tracks to bootleggers in the 90's for all we know, so could have any past P associate, but there is no proof of such a thing ever happening. If the original statement in question is my post above, it was a joke partially intended to mock people who seriously think Tony M is T. I think most people reading my post would realize it wasn't serious. If the original statement isn't my post, then yeah fuck that post. Given this rather chaotic and unorganised release, what do people think are the keepers because theyre better than anything else we have and which ones are no discernable improvement (or worse) than whats already out there?
I dont think I've heard Computer Blue (Hallway) in such good quality but I'm disappointed that Purple Music still has that horrendous sibilence (I suppose Ill have to learn how to use spitfish and try and do it myself rather than rely on someone who probably knows about these things better than me).
I really like some of the shorter tracks and wish we had the full versions.
Maybe someone will tidy this mess up and come up up with a coherent release (BFTP 3???)

Yeah, I know I was just saying that I have seen a lot of people taking the piss out of Tony M and sometimes I hoenstly can't tell whats serious or not haha. But yeah, I understand what you're saying. The leaks could have come from numerous sources, I mean a lot of P's friendships/relationships it seems, end on a bad note.

It's not even necessarily linked. U can like someone and nevertheless betray them on some level, either for money or just out of the enthusiasm of sharing the stuff with people. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

. . And it is also still too fast. Downward adjustment of ca. 1.9% - 2.1% needed, although with less than satisfying results on account of multigenerational tape loss of the underlying content, and the song seems a little more mediocre hearing it at its proper playback speed. .

I've had this version, or something very closely related to this leak, for at least 7 or 8 years. I believe it has been partially assembled from more than one source, as well, or otherwise the noise reduction & misc. trader tampering have disproportionately affected certain specific regions in the track; the beginning (prior to Wendy and Lisa's 'introduction') and the main spoken vocals during the Hallway speech itself stand out like sore thumbs in that regard.

Thanks for posting this dandan! That answers it. That was my question from the original thread. I knew I wasn't nuts. I had me wondering if there was yet another version of C.Blue. It actually sounded cool with that feedback part in there. . He mentioned Good Man but didn't say anything about it's speed. The version on the Work is pitched down compared to the latest. ??? So, the two-minute snippets, can we safely assume those are all from the infamous "sampler cassette" that Big House, Hard to Get, etc., all came from? There's supposed to be 30 songs on there, and we have what now, 10 or 12? Is this the "gem" that only a few people have, or are there any full songs travelling around? I remember T used to brag about having Cosmic Day, it's clear now that he only had the snippet. Then again, "Adonis & Bathsheba" and "Traffic Jam" appeared in full form, so who knows! Balls.

"*PAAAAAAAAAAAAARP!!!*"
nos hablas la grandas deus.
crossfading bootleg Prince tracks is a bit like having a deliberate accident on a highway, wading through the airbag having survived, then wading into another airbag and driving off backwards.
Because of this I now know how the Devil runs to his evil car, so it's a win win overall.
Carry on, sir!

My own hunch is that sample cassette story was bogus. This was supposed to be a tape of song samples Prince was offering to other artists, right? When did Prince ever do that, and why is it not documented anywhere? Bitch this ain't the movies

. The currently circulating full-length 'Traffic Jam' is a reworked, more thoroughly produced take of the version that appeared earlier as a 'snippet' (which was alleged to be part of that 1988/1989-era 'shop-around' tape). . The 'snippet' appears to be more or less that of the initial tracking; the 'overdubbed' version is perhaps something worked on later the very same day, or a few days later, prior to the initial tracking of 'When Doves Cry'. . This earlier version, which has yet to be leaked in its full length, is immensely superior to the cacophonous, unmelodic overdubs that 'Traffic Jam' evidently later received. . However, it is clear, from the overdubbed version, that 'Traffic Jam' served as an effective 'style prototype' for what would, with additional diligence and refinement of its basic ideas, be re-recorded as 'When Doves Cry' within a short period of time. And, needless to say, what he recorded there, with selective mixing and editing, became his biggest thing ever. . 'Love and Sex', which is rumored to be circulating now, and originates from the same period of sessions as TJ and WDC, is likely, or will likely soon be, liberated by the same source(s) as the 'Traffic Jam' initial tracking 'snippet' and final mix. . . Okay... I've run across a different version of Cosmic Day. I think it's the same as the one that leaked with this batch, but it's slower, timing out at 2:36. It doesn't sound as annoyingly chipmunky, and while it might lose a bit of energy... is it possible that the shorter (1:05 and 1:49) snippets are the wrong speed? Or is this longer one one (which honestly sounds more right to me) correct?
And now I'm back [Editing]: Okay, this same source has several other of the new snippets at slightly slower speeds. So... maybe they're just slowing the others down. Though it's possible, I guess, that several are sped up in the recent batch. I'm completely unsure. [Edited 3/24/15 19:26pm]
