Because you already have the tracks that are on it. Right now these half ass labels are working hard trying to figure out how they can fill up three discs with these new outtakes that only take up maybe one.

Let me guess, Exs Face will be on it along with any other recent internet only release song. Maybe "The Flesh Album" no wait, that was already on the last two releases.

I can guarentee that these new track samples will not be any longer or complete songs, and these labels got the tracks the same time you did.

Don't waste your money, don't support these guys. This is one of the top three reasons people don't share rare tracks these days.

It's so hard to reply to this due to the tremendous respect I have for my fellow archivers.

But I will say this though: These inner cirlces would not exist if bootleg oportunists didn't exist.

Glad you have me figured out though, I'm just some novice nobody. Have fun re-selling track snippits and the latest internet tracks. Maybe the free Judith Hill album will be part of this stellar collection?

You forgot to add the increase in volume and bad EQ - just need to try and listen to the two previous Blast releases. What a way to fuck up good sounding tracks.

And Philip is quite right: all these tracks are sourced from the same downloads you already found recently, why on earth would you buy them on CD, the source are still the same mp3s. Better save your money and enjoy what you already have.

The reason people are interested in the commercial releases is pretty simple. They put otherwise scattered tracks into one package. While I did have many of the tracks on the last Blast, I'd missed some when they'd leaked (and I believe there were some I was unaware were available if they had been before). As to the sound tweaks--sometimes I understand the complaints, sometimes I don't--but if you don't have the other pre-tweak leak, you don't know that there's a problem.

As to spending money on it... I doubt very many people will.

Okay, so which tracks do we know are fakes:

P. Control (Mix 9 Ful Length) -- I think someone argued this on the other thread. I haven't even listened to this track myself, because I'd already seen that post, and there were other things I was more interested in.

P. Control (Mix 9 Ful Length) is not a fake remix or a fake track. This version is 100 percent real. Maybe someone tried to do a fan remix of the track but this isnt that.

This version of P. Control is obviously Prince but a fan who I knew back in the day looped a part of the song to extend it to the 9 minute length and then added his own guitar, keys and bass on top of it. This all happened back in '99/'00 and he "watermarked" it by playing the Controversy riff around the 8:53 mark. Those added keyboard sounds were stock patches from his Roland XP-50.

Funny how Prince was all about releasing tons of music back in the early 1990s and was telling Alan leeds to set up a seperate label so he could "anonymously" release all his surplus music, yet these days... (Yeah, I know, we "got" three albums in the last few months and a bunch of downloads, but let's face it, we only really care about that sweet sweet 1980s music.)
