"Boom Box" has the same beat / drum fill as "Sacrifice of Victor", they were only recorded a few months apart. It's cool to see how Prince re-uses ideas in outtakes to come up with new tracks.

Also, is "Boom Box" the only Brass Monkey song that's been leaked? I can't remember if other titles were ever mentioned.

P. Control (Mix 9 Ful Length) is not a fake remix or a fake track. This version is 100 percent real. Maybe someone tried to do a fan remix of the track but this isnt that.

Closer 2 U- is a Jill Jones track, theres very little recording information on this song and also this was the same case with "4 Lust" when it first appeared.

Insatiable#1 was the very first state the song the was. It's more like a work in progress. The song comes from the 11/27/1990 version of the "Diamond and Pearls" tape that Prince submitted to WB

Extralovable is at the correct speed. It is also best version that's in fans hands.

The piano rehearsal is completely fake (nice effort though) and also "Daisy Miller"

"Miss You"extended, blue fish did a go job with it but putting it in this state turns it into a fake.

Thank you for the helpful info!

Thank to BigChick for putting to rest what we all suspected in regards to the piano rehearsal...

Nice, but, not Prince.

biggrin what about the 6 versions on here, is there much difference, do I need them all?

The answer to that questions defines a person as a casual collector versus a prince historian.

.

I lean to the latter and would prefer all versions to see the evolution. But there is no wrong answer.

Okay people, on Guitars101.com there is a guy called Richard Dower and he's the real deal when it comes to Prince bootlegs. Here a sample of what he's posted so far regarding these new leaks. Apparently he got a lifetime ban from here for some reason.

dandan, thanks for posting Richard's breakdown. Very interesting information!! Gotta love the 'org! wink

I know, I know. His manager at Burger King would never give Tony enough time off to do all this outtakes stuff.

lol I traded with him back in the day, and talked to him on the phone a few times. It's definitely not Tony. M. I would recognize those honey-dipped vocals anywhere. lol

It was a crappy outtakes release anyway. Most of the tracks were old news and almost all of the previously unheard tracks were just samples. Big disappointment. mad

47 tracks or so and all I took away from it was Computer Blue with hallway speech which was previously only in mono as well as Baby I'm A Star studio version, Prince's versions of I Guess I'm Crazy and Ain't No Place Like U, Bonnie Raitt's I Need A Man plus the remixes of Trust, P. Control, The Holy River and Hot Wit U. But that's something, I guess. smile

Many people have met T over the years, we know who he is (I mean I don't know his name but I know a lot of his backstory from various threads and he isn't Tony or anyone we know from P's camp).

Hot dayum Computer Blue Hallway Speech is just fucking BANGING!

One of the best slices of Prince's fiery genius at that time in his career. As a musician and songwriter myself I can't even comprehend how you'd beign writing and recording something like that. The contstant guitar feedback and the endless layering of sounds for 11 minutes. Then the lyrics, harmonies, chants, call and response. It's just incredible and a true testement to just how unrivalled Prince's creativity and genius was back then.

I know, I know. His manager at Burger King would never give Tony enough time off to do all this outtakes stuff.

In fact Tony received songwriting royalties for his contributions to the songs in D&P and prince (including Sexy MF and MNIP which were singles, the first being on several greatest hits collections as well). Given the sales and airplay those albums/songs got at the time this usually is enough money for someone to never have to work again for the rest of their life, unless they don't invest it properly (in real estate for example) and burn it in a matter of years by living the life of a pop star without the income that goes with it. So there's very little chance Tony has ever worked anywhere, let alone Burger King, for the last 20 years, not that he will ever work again. Or if he did/does, it was most likely because it was something he was interested in doing.

I never understood why people rag on Tony M so much round here. I mean okay, his raps weren't for everyone but I don't understand why he's everyones scapegoat round here lmao

Also, can I ask a question? Is there bad blood between P and Tony? Did their friendship end on a bad note? Because if Tony M is T it would make sense??

This is one of the problems with the Org, some people write nonsense and people who read their nonsense but do not read the corrective statements buy the nonsense and start thorizing over it or repeat it on further threads. Please read my replies above regarding T and Tony M.

.

Regarding P and Tony there has to have been some bad blood: reportedly P wrote Eye Hate U about Tony and Carmen sleeping together behind P's back so it says it all. However after whatever happened between Carmen and Tony (if the story about EHU is true) and P recorded the song, he nevertheless invited Tony to guest on stage once in 1994. Then a few years later Tony and Levi sued P for unpaid royalties. I do not know that they ever met or spoke ever since but I don't live with either of them and this was all 20 years ago so who knows... Prince was known to dislike his associates to sleep with his female protégés even though HE slept with several girls at the same time all the time, as evidenced by how Tony LeMans was blacklisted from paisley Park after he slept with Ingrid (his second album would have been released on the label and even contain a Prince composition, but Tony wasn't allowed inside PP anymore even for recording sessions). Basically I think after both Tony M and Tony LeMans slept with P's girlfriends, he was probably careful never to have another Tony around him lol lol lol

Ah fair enough. I should probably note though that I have aspergers and can find it hard to differentiate sarcasm (unless it's blatant) and stuff on the internet because I can't read tone of voice lmao. That's just my issue.

But I didn't know that about Ingrid and Tony LeMans though, I was always under the impression that Ingrid and Prince never had a relationship apart from in GB. From the Paisley Park pic Tony was pretty hot haha. I heard he died though. RIP.

Regarding Tony M I think it would depend on how deep the bad blood goes then for him to release vault tracks behind P's back. If it is him then after like what? 20 odd years and he's still pissed off as to do this, then it makes me wonder.
