Yea it's kinda monotonous and just not very exciting. Maybe if he included a few musical changes or something, so it feels like it's actually going somewhere. I did not yet listen to it and now I'm afraid to, based on KS's reaction.
Just remember: either Pricne is guilty of being old school or he's guilty of chasing trends to avoid being considered passél.
That's why I thini Art Official Age is one of Prince' s most brilliant albums, considering he had a spotty record on his attempts to "catch up with the times", AOA feels convincing rather than semi there or comletely off.
