I still don't know how much of Shia's thing is legitimate, and how much is just performance. I think they may be weird in different ways, to me Shia's weird is more show than reality, whereas Priince is normal for the public but in real life legitimately just out there.

Prince said the only noteworthy thing of the entire evening, and in one fell swoop made everything else UNIMPORTANT. And he looked amazing...I'm liking these liquidy costumes he's been wearing of late.

And Annie Lennox made everyone forget about Madge stomping around the minataurs in her erotica/la isla bonita costume. Oy.

Katy Perry was surprisingly elegant, I enjoyed her performance, it was refreshing to see her without the traveling circus.

One word to sum it up: ....hmm..

It was decent, overall. I love Prince sightings in general and seeing him at award shows, but he presented at the Grammys just 2 year ago so seeing him repeat it with a similar category was a little underwhelming. But TwiliteKid is right, there was no official announcement so it really is our fault for getting too hyped for no reason

Is it just me or does the 'fro get weirder looking every time? It was a globe during New Girl, it was drooping a little at the Oscars, and it looked almost like it coming south this time.. I really, really wish he could change his hairstyle. I know he's older now and probably more set in his ways (unlike the 80s/90s where he consistently switched his look around) but I was kind of hoping he would straighten it or do SOMETHING different... we'll all always remember the afro at this point, it's gone on long enough.. Another thing I didn't care for was that shiny orange thing. We love ya Prince and your day-1 originality/unique clothes, but wearing those shiny -70's outfits just makes him look a little corny and really petite. May seem very 'white-bread', but I'd love him to straighten out the fro and work it (with hair extensions or whatever) into a new style (or do anything else fresh with it) and wear a suit or even somewhat flattering clothes. In the end, it boils down to the 'fro. I feel like I could dig the tangerine look if the afro didn't make him look like he had a tiny body and a HUGE head.

One of his best looks imo was 2013 Grammys... the all-black, short curls, hoodie, sunglasses.. that time he looked fresh as fuck. oh well.. one can only dream that Prince ditches the afro

I was really surprised that everybody stood up and clapped for P when he came up, a real assertion to his fame 35+ years after his career started. Celebs seem to genuinely go crazy for him unlike any other celeb who presents awards.. either way, it's nice to see Prince go up there and get loads of applause and love from the famous crowd (I wish they showed reactions from certain celebs tho lol). Even Twitter and news outlets were pouring out love for P. Which makes you wonder why he's doing all the oscar/grammy promotion months after AOA/PE fell off the radar.. heh.

I was super surprised (in a good way) to hear him say 'black lives matter'. First time ever, iirc, he's spoken about public issues at an award shows (let's disregard the late-90s 'I am a slave' talk he gave at some internet awards show ) Very, very nice and he got a lot of positive press for it.

All in all, somewhat disappointing but still cool to see the man up there and getting attention. He seemed just as surprised as anyone when Beck won (I was more surprised how Beck looked sort of starstruck by P.. "hi Prince!"). May we live to see the afro-less sharp-looking handsome-and-not-somewhat-clowny Prince at the next award show! amen.

Am I missing something or is there nothing to be missed. He looked like a fool. Almost as bad as during the Rave smurf outfit days. He could have at least looked somewhat of a legend instead of a buffoon.
