According to Hits Daily Double they show all the upcoming major releases till February and there is no sign of Purple Raain reissue on the list...

Apparently Prince is still making up his mind about several issues, and WB has decided to press on with the Carmen Elektra boxset, which will include videos cleared by Carmen's conscience.

I am def in the minority here, but I could care less about soemthing like this, and I cringe at the thought of a reunion style show as well.

I want to keep the band I know as The Revolution forever young and beautiful in my minds eye...the notion of them all squeezing into those costumes makes me cringe a little ....all of that belongs in the 80's...I'm glad Pri nce isnt nostalgic at all, forward motion keeps you YOUNG AT HEART!

nothing in the near future for sure. Could be something in the first half of next year maybe but who knows. Even though the holiday time is best to do these things, Prince may want all the attention on it or maybe WB wants that who knows at this point. I'm having a hard time imagining:

1. Prince doing anything because it's expected. He got his masters.

Maybe that's all he wanted - the principle.

2. Prince willfully exploiting the "Xmas market".

Seems counter to his faith / principles at this point. Chris Rock's "commercialization of xmas" SNL monologue seemed like a Prince inspired rant.

Oh you mean that "magical" edition that was advertised as designed to be a real sphere capable of free standing on a table somehow or somesuch? Then later showed up as the clear puck / spindle case everybody gets when they buy CDs in bulk?

How can you consider it cancelled? No dates have Ever been specified and they have 6 or 7 months still to fall within the anniversary. Fair enough if they said it was coming in November from an official source and not just someone on here claiming to be in the know.

If they said it was going to drop in November then said its not then people could take it as cancelled or a big delay.

Until a press release comes out dont jump to comclusions

My personal guess is if it doesnt come before Christmas there may have been some sort of compromise somewhere, with the fact WB just released 2 albums for him instead of the one that was originally planned.

3 Albums in the space or 4 months or something that to many would be considered over flooding.

Just because we would go out and buy 3 albums doesnt mean all fans would, so they need to get the timing right.
