Whatever the story is, WB will release it when they think is the best time to capitalise on it. Once AOA and PE have died a death in the charts and all promo for those albums is forgotten.... oh, wait a sec.... that time is now isnt it? Expect an announcement imminently!

I think Scarfo needs to start a thread complaining about all the haters, one is about due. Possibly followed up with an open-letter to Prince imploring him to follow his dreams but also think of the fans who have stuck by him through the years.

Part of me hopes this never comes out just to piss off all the people that keep posting EVERY FUKIN WEEK about the same shite!

That is pretty much correct. 100%...but whoops....we have in one corner Prince, and in the other corner, we have Warner Bros. Both with INCREDIBLE track records in taking INCREDIBLE music, and doing every POSSIBLE thing they could do to decrease sales, including filling every possible promotion and marketing effort with bumbling and fumbling of historic levels.

With that being said, they probably won't screw this up. It took them awhile to get the agreement to begin with, but I would not put it past either of them to screw it up. This is PRINCE we are talking about.

Not sure why people feel there has to be a BIG splash and talk about the release, if and when it happens its going to be low key, WB is not going to do a big huge promo over an album they sold already, probably some commercial spots and toss it out there holiday time, no big deal. I mean they arent going to go nuts over advertising with this, its a 30 year old album that sold already, I love reissues as a fan and collecting them, but MOST people that bought the original VERY RARELY buy the re-issue, i think the actual number is less than 1% of people that buy the original of a record get the reissue, and the number drops the more expensive the package.

I doubt Warner's has enough control to get this done peoperly. I bet Prince thinks that for every classic album they want to remaster they should also market 7 new albums of mild rock, new age neo soul christianharmoney.com-tracks-for-lovers sung by random people he discovered on the Great Satan Youtube. Forget about outtakes. For those they are going to have to repent for ever signing him in the first place and owning the rights to all his sinful classic material, and then cleanse themselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. Even then the best they are going to get out of him are DJ Rasheeda remixes and GoldNigga leftovers.

On a serious note though your comments are understandable, but there was another post along the same lines that was at the bottom of the first page/top of 2nd page at the time Titled "Prince blew it with the 30th anniversary of Purple rain" think that was more peoples point how often the same kind of threads pop up, everyone feels the same as you so we sympathize.

Us all moaning about it does nothing for the situation, we wouldnt have expected it if it wasnt announced so just take it as a bonus that as some point it will come, be it next month or next June

And I highly suspect alot will be dissapointed if they are expecting anything other than the tracks already on the Album, my expectations are low, anything more is a bonus. I reckon WB will have something in there to make it Deluxe or what is the point in having him on board? But what P will clear for putting on there is a different story

You do have to understand that you can click through a few pages, and the last several hundred posts on here in about 90 seconds, and that there are TONS of posts about the remasters. It's overkill. There have been at least 20 threads that are "Is the new Purple Rain coming out?"

So you will get some expected funny or worse repsonses from the peanut gallery. Just be glad somebody didn't sick Bart Van Halen on you.

I did look back and I only found 2 or 3 recently, hardly 'tons' as you put it. As I said before, if it's so bothersome to people, why do they click the post and read it? Using the reason that they are pissed off with something is no excuse to go out of their way to be nasty to people, especially when my post wasn't intented to annoy or anger. Yes, I'm sure it would be, hence my disappointment due to the fact that no news has been announced. I was also hoping that somebody might have a better knowledge of the timescale of album releases etc. and whether it would still be a possibility that the reissue could be out by the end of the year. Also, if the posts have been deleted, I can't know that if I haven't seen them in the first place.

I don't think anyone should expect myself or anyone else to religiously follow this site daily. I just can't see how my post is so offensive to some people, or why it's justifiable to be nasty. I've made my point and won't bang on about it anymore. while it doesn't bother me personally, I just think this forum has become a bit nasty over the years, much like reading a Youtube comment section.

No one from Warner or Prince's camp have ever mentioned any dates especially not November, that month came from a post on here nothing official.

Plus, there is still plenty of time should they announce it on SNL to get the Pre-orders up for Black Friday release.
