I have a wide taste across r&b, jazz, classical and funk. Rather than just listen to old stuff from Marley and The Police and Hendrix and Bruce Spingsteen etc I look for new music.

.

And my absolute favorite artist other than Prince is Allen Stone. Check him out. Just blows me away. Every song a gem. He's released two albums plus heaps of other songs on youtube. Third new album soon and he put out 4 new songs as pre listen. So good. Plays with band and just solo acoustic.

.

He's R&B/Soul, a mix of Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Jamiroquai and who knows who else but white and about 25.

.

.

His vevo channel and just search on youtube for heaps more videos including live shows.

Hell of a Stevie Wonder copycat indeed, but I like it, thx smile

His voice sounds very similar but the songs are quite different I thought. Oh well.

Anyway check this out, just found it!

It gets stranger. Those are my Top 5 favorites (excluding Prince), but according to my last.fm profile, my Top 5 most listened to (again, excluding Prince) are:

Michael Jackson

The System
Owl City

Rick Springfield
Nine Inch Nails

I'm yet to figure out any common threads between most of the artists I love and listen to the most lol

Be sure to check out the Billy Childs tribute to Laura Nyro. It is great.

Im also a huge Nyro fan but I'd not heard of this tribute... sounds interesting with Esperanza Spalding, Ledisi and Wayne Shorter contributing.. I'll have to check this out.

Change it one more time..

Really do. I saw parts of it performed at Monterey Jazz. Lisa Fischer blew the roof off, except it was outside so no roof. But hearing these two brilliant and under-recognised artists together, Laura and Lisa, was great. Ricky Lee Jones does a great Been On A Train. She has been on that train and you can feel it. I wonder if Prince has noticed Laura?
