Princesiscool: Hey there, remember on AI tonight how they kept harping on the kids about who did the musicial arrangements? This was for Tom, Majesty and a few others I think. It was interesting to see Prince talk about AI having bad musicial arrangements.

Love P on Arsenio!! Love to hear them reminisce about the good ole days. Felt a little sad when Arsenio brought up having a son...P congratulated him but a saw a tinge of sadness in his voice and on his face (he got a bit fidgety too). Still it's great to see him on tv again and soo chill

Where I am in the world they show the Arsenio Hall show every night. Never having watched it I thought I would make an effort to watch last night thinking that perhaps our viewing schedule is the same as the US. It turns out last nights episode was number 66. A quick google and it turns out the Prince episode is number 113.

We probably wont get to episode 113 for another 3 months or more. Luckily, the album will still not have dropped by then so it might still work as some promotion for the "up and coming album, PlectrumElectrum" targetted at his 3 African fans.

I am starting to feel that PE is going the same way as Crystal Ball, Dream Factory, The Dawn... etc.

Enjoyed the Aresenio performance and interview, even if it did make me feel like I was about 500 years old because it just seems like yesterday that he was on in the 1990s. Now you have two pre-AARP gentlemen talking about the good old days while I sat there with my knee hurting because I walked a little more yesterday than I used to and my joints aren't what they used to be. The interview was funny and Prince was very relaxed. As usual, he needed to talk a little bit louder (my hearing is not what it used to be either) but the man can do more with a raised eyebrow than most stand up comedians can do with a 2 hour set. Prince's relaxed sense of humor has always been his strong suit (when he wasn't too uptight to use it) and he seems to have a real sense of self now. He stills come off as a space alien but one who has assimilated human behavior long enough to pull it off. (Great idea: Prince should do a remake of that Jeff Bridges classic Starman) The audience segment was okay, a little hokey but once again it was great to see how relaxed he was surrounded by an audience. The phone bit with the girlfriend seemed staged and Steve came off kinda creepy which actually is what most Prince fans probably come off to those normal freaks out there. The music was above average, Funknroll was a nice slice of 2000s funk and SAIMH rocked as it pretty much always does. Overall, enjoyed it and it's great watching Prince become more and more like a living legend, kind of like a mixture of Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and Elvis all wrapped into one.

All good things they say never last...

I thought FunknRoll was great, looking forward to hearing the album version

.

Still no confirmation of release date but surely not too far away with this promotion he's doing. The UK programme Soccer Am played Pretzel a couple of weeks and stated a release date of 31st March and the Mojo interviewer also mentioned March so we'll see

.

Also, with him mentioning The Breakdown does that mean its on the album or is he being a bit of a tease?!

Liv did great again. Hope this expands her audience, she really deserves it.

Agree. I've always admired her voice whenever she sang backup in Prince's band. When I watched a live performance online, of her singing at the Village Underground in NYC a couple of years ago, with Shelby and Elisa, that's when I was sold on her singing, and realized how powerful her voice was. Her song 'I Decided', from her last album titled 'Embrace Me', is awesome too. It's a sultry, slow ballad. [Edited 3/5/14 21:28pm]

'I Decided" Yassss that song is incredible. I have been making my friends check out her debut LP as well as "The Unexpected". I am so in love with what she is bringing to the table. She has her own voice and can write and arrange beautiful songs. She gets me excited about music again. I am wearing her new CD out....and loving it !!!!

To tell the truth, the best part of the show was the interview and Liv's performance. Prince was underwhelming. It looks as if he doesn't have the funk in his heart anymore. I'm still a fan, but I'm being real with how I feel about this performance. Whack!

I like Funknroll but not this performance cuz the lack of energi and the horns sounded awful, dosent fit the song, a guitar solo would've been better. I perfer the live version I have from last years concert in Stockholm. This makes me belive a studio version wont be that great, but I hope Im wrong

I am just so in love with what she is bringing to the table. She is the real deal with her own powerful voice. A Prince puppet she is not. She gets me excited about music again and I have listened to "The Unexpected" non-stop. I just cannot put it down.

Prince brought the party on Arsenio last night! It seemed like a great time for the audience as well. I was surprised at the Q&A session, never thought he would do something like that. Another observation, Hannah always looks really happy to be playing those drums. smile But who was the hottie on the keyboards? He was simply delicious...oh, and so was Prince.

Sweet Jebus, it is quite astonishing to see how they've managed to turn "Mutiny" into an utter wreck. If you're bored with playing a song, Prince, don't start changing it until it is as bad as your current crop of crap.

And people praise this?

Yeah, it was a bad performance of Funknroll, (and to be honest, She's Always in My Hair). I like the song, but it sounds better with guitar instead of horns - which it should be on the Plectrum Electrum album. The performances didn't compare to what 3rd Eye Girl was doing in the UK.

Sweet Jesus, it is quite astonishing to see how you manage to turn your anger with Prince into complaints in every single thing Prince does (wrong) during the day. If you're bored with an artist (Prince), don't start logging on this website and watching/listening to everything that comes out until you've exasperated every single soul with your current crap.

I'm pretty sure this sounds better than the crap you wrote.

I wasn't able to watch due to a massive solar flare that has produced much aurora activity that interferes with tv signals. I'm enjoying reading the commentary, hopefully this episode will re-air, or we can see it online.
