I don't mind Cat's rap. It's fun. Nobody expected her to be Chuck D, right?

That kind of reminds me when I first heard "Undisputed". It started just fine to my ears, was kind of interesting rhythmically and it was a nice transition from the title track, but when he gets to the chorus with all those chants I was like "oh, no" ("N-P-G! GET ROWDAY!"). Oh, yeah, and then comes Chuck D. A totally unnecessary inclusion on that track.

Cant believe my purple psychedelic pimp slap pimp2

And I descend from grace, In arms of undertow
I will take my place, In the great below

Sticky like glue is AWESOME. Syncopated strut with flair...then he starts rapping and makes the entire thing embarrassing and silly. Everybody into me make a toast? C'mon bruh...u had to have known that was trite. I still love the song, but if I could edit that out I would marry it. As of now its a butter face I fuck with a brown bag.

I thiiiink its 77 park. It starts of with guitars dripping in sweat from a trip to hell...then BAM! It gets all schmaltzy. I could deal with some schmaltz there if he let the sweat from hell linger long enough to develop a stench from which the schmaltz could save me.

Yeah that rhythm track is far too stuttery for the timbre of a Chuck D rap. Musically, a round peg in a square hole.

Byron

Digital Garden...starts off with some impressive instrumentation, puts some creative overlapping vocals on top of it...real nice subtle melody as well, sounds almost as if improvised on the spot.

Then, the guitar chords kick in towards the end lol neutral...completely out of place and didn't enhance the song one iota...not to mention the guitar had nothing interesting to it, very bland (except for the very end when it's fading out). Plus, when the guitar part starts, Prince stops singing and just does a rather tame spoken word vocal over the guitars. A rather unique song suddenly goes incredibly generic.

100% agreement on this one. Sticky Like glue could have been classic without the Junior High bravado.

In the early '90s it was usually a rap break by Tony M.

In the last decade, it's been a latin jazz interlude. See: Planet Earth and F.U.N.K., etc.

And whilst we are on the subject, was it really neccessary to have the Lord's prayer in the middle of the song 'Controversy'?

Just ruined the song 4 me...I mean I had just listened to some nasty azz 'Do me baby' and now you wanna make me feel guilty with some church scriptures. Prince, c'mon man. neutral

.

Don't forget "Damned If Eye Do". That salsa-thing at the end completely ruins the song.

.

Also, that jammy end to "The Holy River". Completely unnecessary. It derails the vibe of the song.

The chipmunk voice at the end of Breakfast Can Wait. Arguably his best song of 2013 and it's ruined. It doesn't fit this song at all.

The rap at the end of The Daisy Chain. It's a great song with some racial and political leanings but gets cheapened and ruined with some white-trash rap about a stripper with a belly button ring.

The Larry Graham "every day!" chant at the end of Everyday Is A Winding Road. Took a halfway decent remake and turned it into one of his worst songs ever.

The intro and outro of Peace. It's humorous at times, but mostly it diminishes an otherwise positive song.

Sound effects on certain songs like Pussy Control (power car windows) and TMBGITW (clocks ticking and water droplets) just to name a few.
