Why do people hate the afro? There is nothing wrong with it....I would say something but they be censoring people around here who speak the truth.

I could get with the afro if he would moisturize it. It's looking dry-n-crunchy. Damn, Blue Magic is still on the market. I picked up a jar several months ago. And tackle those fly-aways. Someone needs to show him how to maintain it and keep it tight.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
Hate to get up in P's arse but that performance last night . Lets Go Crazy slow like that I think should have stayed in the Club Performances on Tour. He would have been better off doing Dance4Me, Chelsea Rodgers, Acknowledge Me, Guitar, Black Sweat, etc. etc. etc. Something with a up tempo. But he come out there with that slow mess looking like an old man that can't play it fast. Heck they were putting people to sleep right at the start. That would have been great to play at an old folks home as I'm sitting back rockin in a rockin chair!
FixUrLifeUp was good! He could have went from a up tempo song into FULU and would be good. Opinions? Seem like I saw few posts earlier saying that was a bad way to start at a Televised Awards show. And also do you think he won over in any new fans with that perfomance last night?

I agree the performance was slow. The mood that night was kinda uptempo and for Prince and those 3rdeye chicks to come out and play real slow like that just sounded bad. I think for him to get the recognition of an Icon he should've come out and play at least some of the uptempo songs that made him an Icon. The new look is terrible too. The fro would look nicer cut low. This current look makes him look old and like he's trying to be younger. Prince is a handsome man and he needs to kill all the makeup-it's kinda overdone and boring now. Last, but not least I really miss Maceo, Eric and the band minus Shelbey cuz those 3rdeye broads aint where it's at

Exactly...I have yet to hear anyone criticize Jimi's hair,
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
Love Prince's new look with the cool fro(back to his black pride look) & turquoise ensemble. Its daring & pure rock & roll he looked so happy the whole day Sunday.
The new quartet band is a welcome change 2 his already good band The NPG. He seems very happy with them. Hopefully with the new album they can get a top 10 hit. Eye think this new deal will put both Prince & 3rd Girl there. Plus the mega bucks he just made on the recent LoL tour have fatten all their bank accounts.
will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.
Exactly...I have yet to hear anyone criticize Jimi's hair,
It looks good on Jimi. Actually, in those early promo pics from the 70s, it looks good on Prince, too. I don't like it now, though. I think his pretty facial features and striking bone structure are lost with that big, bushy hair. The clothes, the glasses, the hair, the eye makeup - all NO's. He looked good at the Grammy's tho.

Jimi's fro looks fine on Jimi; Jimi's fro is not working for Prince. Now, the fro that Prince had back in the day is a different story, it was on point and serious business - and he wore it well. I'm sure their are some who didn't like that style of afro either. It's just a matter of personal opinion when it comes down to it.

My point was that nobody ever made a big deal about Jimi's hair one way or the other.

Yep, it's just my preference for guys. I like afros or nice dreads and even braids, (on younger men)
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
Dunno. I thought it was a bit off including P's guitar playing...Not a memorable performance, such as the Jimmy Fallon show which was beyond epic.
Just sayin'...
Yes, I'm quoting myself.
I reverse my perspective... I've gone back to the "tape" several times now... That was a fantastic performance.
As far as the lighting, I loved everything except the overuse of the super bright whites. They're not kind to the Fro nor the face... of anybody. But P looked fantastic, played and sang fantastic, and relayed energy as only he can... and still does.
Lovin' this whole "direction"... and still love the Fallon show.
At least Bruno started it off and Prince ended it - real performances to bookend the show. In between was a vast wasteland, except for a couple of lights - that Kacey girl and I was impressed with The Band Perry, I'd never seen or heard them before. A few things that were interesting: -Kid Rock's comment about lip-syncing -Justin Bieber calling himself an artist, and all that matters is the craft and the music, and let's focus on that and not the rest of the bull. Wow. That's funny. Does he realize that his music is not good enough for him to assert such a thing? -Why oh why did Niki Manaj do that lap dance routine, that whole thing was just a no. -Prince looked way way better to me live in Anaheim - black eyeliner, kick-ass geometric black outfit and bad-ass 18th century inspired coat. That silvery eye makeup and turquoise put him in old lady territory. But the performance was great!

I suspect he thought he would be elevating himself to that level simply by the mere utterance of those words. I hope he's saving his money, but his affectation at the awards show Sunday night suggests to me that it's all going up his nose. He seems to have lost his boyish charm & appeal, and that was the bread and butter of his whole career. Sadly, at 19 years of age, I think his celebrity hit its peak 2 or 3 years ago.
