I gotta agree here. The entire thing was painful, but Nicky and Lil Wayne..I was like, damn, I'm old, but not that old. If my kid had been up at that time I would have turned it. And WTF is up with her ass? That shit is so obviously enhanced, throwing it around like it's something to behold. More like tossing around a bowl of bricks. And J-Lo's "performance"? A formulaic song that ended up simply being a plg for her Kohl's gig. And I REALLY could have done with out seeing all up in her uterus.
Music is in a seriously sad state right now.

Hate to get up in P's arse but that performance last night . Lets Go Crazy slow like that I think should have stayed in the Club Performances on Tour. He would have been better off doing Dance4Me, Chelsea Rodgers, Acknowledge Me, Guitar, Black Sweat, etc. etc. etc. Something with a up tempo. But he come out there with that slow mess looking like an old man that can't play it fast. Heck they were putting people to sleep right at the start. That would have been great to play at an old folks home as I'm sitting back rockin in a rockin chair!
FixUrLifeUp was good! He could have went from a up tempo song into FULU and would be good. Opinions? Seem like I saw few posts earlier saying that was a bad way to start at a Televised Awards show. And also do you think he won over in any new fans with that perfomance last night? [Edited 5/20/13 9:42am]

It's better for you to mention it Rred than me. Yeah, I do have to wonder why on earth he'd wear it (other than liking it & not giving 2 hoots) when he knows 100% the connotations it has. Is he being satirical & mocking?!! I'm really hoping it's this & not that he advocates that kinda imagery.

Stop. Prince has used the eye 4 ever. The band is named 3rd Eye Girl right? With his penchant for stirring up controversy, I don't doubt that he knew some people would talk about the ring. Release Yourself

IDK. I enjoyed some aspects of the performance. Nothing earth shaking IMO. The problem I seem to have with many of these TV performances is that they don't seem to build into something that significant. It's like Prince says "omit most of lyrics from song, give 'em abrupt guitar solo a minute into song...etc...etc
I realize there is limited time, but packing too many musical ideas comes off as almost sloppy. No great guitar playing last night, either. My BF was like "that fro has got ta go" but loved the performance more than I did, and he's not a fan like I am...so what the h.e. double hockey sticks do I know??/

I have been listening to Prince music since 1979. I have seen countless shows from every U.S tour since 1981. When he emerged late last year with this new 3rdeyegirl concept I was a bit weary. Now,after listening to about 8 different shows from this tour and seeing last nights Billboard performance,I have come to this conclusion... THIS IS THE HEAVIEST FUCKING STUFF HE HAS EVER DONE AND I AM TOTALLY IMPRESSED! I mean, some of these 3rdeyegirl shows I have heard in the last few days have been some of he BEST rock-n-roll this dude has done.It really feels like his heart is in it and it feels re-energised. I can only hope he opens a can of whoop- ass on us with the 3rdeyegirl album. If these concerts are any indication then we arre in for a BAD-ASSED new album, finally! Open your mind, check out some of these shows and enjoy this new, rockier, heavier, naughtier direction he is taking right now... cuz who knows how long it will last.

I wonder how many people are raving about his performance last night around the office coolers today?

At first I thought it was Damaris but I'm thinking it's either Chelsea Rogers or Stella Blu (the artist who designed the 3rdeyegirl symbol)....

I don't know OldFriend. Prince almost never had a problem accepting awards from the NAACP or Soul Train award shows. . But then again, Billboard is looking too much like MTV VMA. It more of a block party than a proper award show.

His mother taught him well. He really made me laugh...he sat through the whole show with me and just kept repeating himself..."Yeah, she's lip-synching." " Oh, yeah, him too!" "Damn can she at least lip-synch with the background music?" And he's not a Kid Rock fan but when the Kid said what he said and then threw the mic on the floor my son was like, "YES!!!!! You tell 'em!!!"

Yes...and of course I've heard others say the same thing...but I loved how Kid Rock was the only one who acted like, "WTF am I doing here???" " I need to get the fuck off this stage!" "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

Favorite part of the show was when they really sang, like Band Perry (didn't care for the song), Ed Sheeran, and Prince.
Not a fan of booing, but if someone was to be booed I'm glad it was Bieber. Is it me or does he act like he is twelve? 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
