damn some of y'all are some childish mofo's. He should give you what you want? No, you have it exactly backwards, and I would imagine that this is one reason that Prince is so hardcore when it comes to bootlegs. It's not in our perview to dictate when, what, how much, etc. to release. It's his shit, period. This show is out as a boot already, and you seriously expect that a reasonable course of action for him is to release it officially to beat the bootleggers to the punch? Ridiculous.

Thank you for bringing me back to the most important point! I'm glad that I can purchase Prince's music so easily. This is so much better than chasing often poorly offered bootlegs across a virus filled internet.
I'm not saying chasing bootlegs isn't fun.
But posting it here on the org about these things can't be good considering
how Prince gets on a bad hair day. |

If Prince is indeed monitoring this site, or has people doing so, let it be read that he has alot of people here who'd gladly pay for live shows. I'm liking the ease-of-use the new site has, and the fun of checking it every fifteen freakin' minutes to see if something new's been added. I look forward to whatever else he'll offer in the near future.
Off to check up on 3rdEyeGirl again... [Edited 2/19/13 9:54am] |

I agree with your point that people should be more mindful about how supporting or promoting bootlegs so openly on this site may not be the wisest thing to do. Additionally, unfortunately for me, chasing bootlegs used to be fun, but the older I've gotten, with more life responsibilities, chasing bootlegs is more of a pain and often not worth it whereas getting the work directly from Prince is easier for me.

Well, it's better than wasting one's time trolling the internet for mostly sub-standard audio tracks. For every one great "soundboard," there are hundreds of crappy sounding drivel that make it not worth the effort, especially since most of the stuff, especially studio stuff, is over-hyped anyway. But, you hold on to your right to be a fool chasing an overly romanticized myth. |

Oh that must be that thing YOU're chasing by believing the lie that Prince knows what he's doing, but you won't admit it to yourself, so you're projecting your issue onto me. Yeah, that must be it.

Dude, your head seems so far up your butt that you must be eating dinner twice. I never said anything about Prince being right. You would realize this if your eyes weren't blurred with your own issues. I said that Prince has a legal right to do with his art what he so desires, using Prince's asshole behavior as a justification to be a thief is hypocritical, and that it is easier getting direct downloads from Prince than having to chase bootlegs across a virus filled internet. So, with those statements, what can I possibly be projecting onto you but some reality, fact, and sanity. The romanticized myth or lie or delusion is that Prince must make all of his work available to his fans and that his fans have the right to have these works simply because they want them. But, again, your head seems so far up your butt that you can't smell the truth and you don’t notice the stank of your hypocrisy or delusion.

If an evil bootleggar can get stuff to the streets in about two months, then why can't mr Prince get his CD's on the internet in the same time?
Take preorders to finance the operation.
Be creative!
Assuming he can't do it (which is understandable if we look at the Montreux 2009 fiasco) is giving in to mediocrity.
My point is every Prince show gets bootlegged. So is Prince supposed to "beat the bootleggers" by releasing every single show(good or bad) within weeks?
I was gonna beat a dead horse by saying that the only ones he needs to release are the ones he previews or suggests are coming, but I changed my mind about my point:
YOUR SIG IS GREAT!
"I'm your hammer, you're my nail!"
Now that's funny... I don't even care what you're saying above it. HonestMan13, you now have a pass from me--any opinion you share, I just let it go. I'll find somebody else saying the same thing and argue with them, but you're fine. Until you change your sig. But why should you--you've already got a great avatar, too. |

Pearl Jam and Phish probably do it for the fans and not for the money. |

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with discussing both. If he's going to get his thong stuck up his ass because some fans were discussing a bootleg of his on a fan site, then you know what? Screw him and his pay-by-song distribution method. He's from America, so he should be very well aware of the freedom to be able to discuss such works. And if this is what would set him off and cause him to clam up, then fine. He can keep his crappy new releases anyway. |

Bullshit, thats exactly why we have boots because Prince dosnt always give us the stuff we want. Its up to him what he does but to suggest we are just gluttons is proper crap. How is wanting to listen to more of his music glutanous?! Its just called being a fan.
Prince could release all of his shows for download within a few days if he wanted to, I wish he would, its easy to do and it'd stop the bootleggers. He records all of his shows anyway he might as well release them.
It's sad that you don't realize how myopic, selfish, and immoral you are. Not that I'm not any less myopic, selfish, or immoral than you, but I don't blame others for my myopic, selfish, and immoral behavior. Your response is the equivalent of thinking it is acceptable for me to purchase a stolen big screen because I'm a big fan of big screens. It's not about what Prince could or could not do. It is his music, his legacy, his work, not yours. Maybe because I'm an artist I see it differently, but ownership means something, especially ownership of something that one creates. So, yes, you and I are fans. So what? Big deal! Is it acceptable for me to steal Prince's latest shirts or pants because I've a fan of his wardrobe? Is it acceptable for me to steal Prince's guitar because I'm a fan. A true fan respects ownership and personal rights. And if Prince's behavior causes you or anyone else to lose respect for him or like him less, stealing from him actually justifies his acting like an ass and shows you, me, and others to be hypocritical asses. So, it doesn't matter that he records all of his shows. They are his shows. Are you too simple to understand that basic point? But don't worry, when I purchase your tv and computer from the pawn shop, I'll be sure to tell the judge that I'm such a big fan of you and your tv and computer so that I will not be sentenced to jail.
Still in love with your passionate protest! |

When this comes out (and we WILL hear about it here) it will be easy to find for free. The OP has already provided all the key words needed to use a search engine to find a free copy. Thanks OP, you make it easier to get this bootleg without paying the bootlegger.

I would argue that anybody who can use a comuter to visit and post on this site could figure out how to use a search engine to find something they have so much info on. But, with so many having problems using the simple 3rdeyegirl site, maybe I'm wrong...

I enjoy Prince's music BECAUSE of bootlegs, not in spite of them. His output is more enjoyable to me because I've seen a bit "behind the curtain," and like it or not, Prince has bootlegs to thank for me buying every piece of music he's released in his life. Bootlegs are as much of Prince's brand as are the name Prince, , The Revolution, his custom guitars, etc. He's lucky they're around and that he has a following that pines for them. Nearly every other artist in the world would pay a lot for that kind of support and following.
In Renato's defense, I'm sure what he meant is buy official releases, don't steal music that's seen proper release and which nets royalties for artists, which I completely agree with.
