"When she comes" is wrongly named, it's clearly "Liathach" by Jo Hamilton, pointed out by 3rd eye girl.

Someone tell EYErecords and princevault, razz

[Edited 3/7/13 11:19am]

Pointed out by 3rdeyegirl? where and when?

Gohi

I don't like when he asks "old or new" nowadays. It's depressing to hear everyone say "old." I did like how after everyone said "old" he says "I was asking about you."

According to this site every burp in an arena Prince has made since 1983 should be on Blu-Ray, DVD & CD. Not exactly a great money making idea. Flood the market with every performance from every tour.

Yes, as we all know Metallica and Pearl Jam know nothing about the music biz.

The thing is people will still find something to complain about(MP3 versus wav. versus flac versus ???). Prince fans are notorious for wanting extras with whatever they buy. So there is no easy way for Prince to give us live shows. Yeah he could do like other acts and offer a download after a show but then we have the sound argument all over again

This is such BS. All people want is "untouched" soundboard recordings, not edited to deathrecordings that have been re-recorded partially in the studio. In our choice of quality.

and then there's no packaging for the CD enthusiasts

BS.

and no extras for the greedier fans.

Even bigger BS. Funny how you need to invent strawmen to avoid admitting Prince failed to deliver once again.

My point is every Prince show gets bootlegged. So is Prince supposed to "beat the bootleggers" by releasing every single show(good or bad) within weeks?

Metallica can. Pearl Jam can. The Pixies can. Plenty of artists manage to sell recordings of gigs ON THE NIGHT ITSELF or mere hours or days after;

Never gonna listen to the whole thing, but always good to collect these things, I guess. Good sound, thank you very much. Still stealing on someone elses part. innocent That's for someone else to worry about. For the full Chapters & Verse, I'da paid full 3rdeye price and then some. Love the hell out of this one. boogie

Man!

If an evil bootleggar can get stuff to the streets in about two months, then why can't mr Prince get his CD's on the internet in the same time?

Take preorders to finance the operation.

Be creative!

Assuming he can't do it (which is understandable if we look at the Montreux 2009 fiasco) is giving in to mediocrity.

My point is every Prince show gets bootlegged. So is Prince supposed to "beat the bootleggers" by releasing every single show(good or bad) within weeks?

This approach has worked out pretty well with a few other bands I can name.

I feel like Prince would be way too anxious about letting possible mistakes live on for eternity within his catalogue, being the perfectionist that he is.

I get that, but why should he care? All I see him doing is going "waaahhhh" I can't make any money under this modern business model and then refusing to embrace the ways that a lot of other artists with loyal followings have managed to do exactly that. Sometimes I think he just wants to be too "cool" and "edgy" and above it all rather than simply follow other artists' successful examples.

Granted, he has a great point about piracy and artistic control and a lot of things, but denying his fans material they want either because he can't control it all or because it's "not perfect" is sort of laughable when you look at a lot of things he's endeavored at where he had complete control over everything and the material was still subpar and the business model/delivery system was still broken and fucked up.

eek confuse For what?

I've heard the lot about 4 times and it's on now. Maybe we're spoilt nowadays? I still appreciate every one. You need a zap back to snail trading and hunting in record fairs. Then come home with a chewy tape of a distorted Boston aftershow or something. Have Boni shit in your ears, redlining a distorted shambles for a bit and finish up still happy you got to hear it.

Sorry. Would much rather have Chapter & Verse on repeat until I have 8 or 9 hours to kill. lol
