Breakfast is an ok song. Perhaps it will grow on me. Kind of like if you mixed Jukebox with a Heartbeat with Incense and Candles, you would get this. Only one I haven't heard is the Screwdriver remix. It seems I'm still biggest on the original extended mix of RNR Affair. I know the song title gives away a lot about some songs, but the lyrics were EXACTLY what I expected without anything truly unique. Still, not a bad song by any means. I suppose I am rare around here due to hardly every really NOT liking a song by Prince. | |

Oh lawd, I think this is where Prince n I finally part company (I know, he will b devastated  ) But seriously???!! What's with the chipmunk on helium?? I get that it's a stab at humour, one of the most endearing qualities Prince possesses, but just made me too fuckin random...great beat, dig the flow, vocals way below par, asinine lyrics, best parts of which struck me as ripped directly from Jill Scott's 'whatever' (tune!) Come on, pleease! I'm grieving  Prince, what have u done to Prince?? That ever changing wonder, so adept at upping the game!! So an 88 cent download put you over the edge with him? I paid $310 for a VIP ticket at a show where Shelby screamed Put Your Hands Up over 30 times, maybe over 50, kind of like a WWF or is it WWE moment of pure absurdity, and I still stick with Prince....but an 88 cent download causes you to leave the fold? I think the lyrics are really stupid and 100% predictible once you read the title, but it's better than Jughead and The Wedding Feast. It's obviously not a song most would leave the fold for. Purple And Gold was miles and miles worse than this. Hell, the actual music to this isn't half bad..in fact it makes it a good song for me with a few less than great parts. | |

Oh no....it took way more than this one track...trust! This is just somewhere around the final straw! My worst fears are just being confirmed too repeatedly to b ignored. Even now I feel like a total turncoat, my loyalty and admiration for Prince run that deep, over 27 years, if u cut me in half, there's gonna b a O+> right thro' the middle but my love is not deaf dumb, or blind!!! I can't get with Screw driver, R n R blah blah, or most of the last 2/3/4 albums  but I have tried, goddamn it!! I have tried soooo hard 2 continue to love his output since somewhere thro ' musicology, something started to slip off kilter for me,. IMHO it has been a gradual downhill trajectory since then. I am so jealous of those who still feel enraptured by the new releases, I wanna feel that way again! Lol! But I jus can't fake it! The last work that realy had me was Rainbow Children...a few dodgy bits, but great swathes of brilliance n flashes of genius still abound therein. For me, and I speak only from a most personal place, and it makes me more sad than I dare to admit, I am finding this work, in the context of a pioneering career spanning 3 decades, a bitter disappointment, and frankly, embarrassing.
I guess my love doesn't die easy, but once it does, it's dead lol!!

An anthem for every man that wakes up with morning wood
This is a great track... if Prince wants something to generate social media buzz this would be a good candidate. The highlight of the track is the rhythm section--that bass guitar is grooving. Glad to hear that while he's rocking out a la Screwdriver, he still gettin his R&B groove on.
