The one running throughout the song that sounds like Casio wouldn't include in their presets becasue to them "it sounds cheap".

I'm not trying to give you a hard time here, but you didn't get my point and clearly don't understand what I was saying.

All those different Prince voices, where he is doing multi-part harmonizing with himself are multiple tracks. He sang each of them. Then there's the parts where he's doing call and response with himself, like vocal counterpoint, which is also multi-tracked. Getting all of that right, so that it sounds that good, takes an enormous amount of time and talent.

Regarding the drums, are you serious? It sounds like a Prince drum track. He's been doing drum tracks like that since the late SEVENTIES!

I played it for a friend of mine--a non-fan who heard about Screwdriver from Howard Stern... he liked the clip played on the Stern show and said he heard there was another song... I played it for him, and he thought it was very likable, very relevant, and very catchy.

I played it once. And then we moved on... 30 minutes later he started humming to himself "Breakfast Can Wait."

That is what a song is supposed to do. HOOK. RNR Love Affair doesn't have that. Screwdriver doesn't really have that (though it's a great song). Barely one listen, and it's hooked. He asked that I play it over again and again, and kept noticing different things each time.

It's so refreshing to hear about Prince from non-obsessives like ourselves. Kinda puts things in perspective
