Pretty does not equal articulate.

I said 'PrettyMan' not pretty.

Look at how I placed both words together.

When they are together like that, 'PrettyMan' IS SLANG FOR ARTICULATE.

I don't get how some people have been here for long periods of time & don't even know

what talent Prince has in his nail bed, let alone his entire body, brain included.

OMG lol ......................cool

so let's translate this shall we? "i will continue 2 bore my hardcore fans with the same old songs i have been doing over and over since I said i would retire my hits but obviously I lied. I can't really go and sing new material but I will have Andy sing and do a totally new rendition of my songs that used 2 have very heavy sexual content. The sound quality is very important and it's interesting when my fans can't tell I've done the same arrangement of Alphabet St. for years now."

and what's also funny is the mere mention of the word revolution and those that don't want the funk perk up. if Prince was all about the revolution so much, then how come since 1990 the name of his band is the new power generation in so many members? if he was all about the revolution band then he could have just as easily got new band memebers and called it the revolution

Yeah, and the whole "revolution" word drop was a calculated attempt at getting the fan base riled up into thinking he was giving a hint of things to come with his old band. bored He probably typed all of his answers in all caps just so he wouldn't have to capitalize "the revolution" so he could tease some of the fans by wondering, "Was he not-so-subtly mentioning his old band, or was he just using the words?" Yeah Prince, we're all that dumb. rolleyes

And most of his arena-type audiences are all the same, which he already thinks, so he just hits them with the same ol' hits, with an obscure song or two (mostly sung by someone else on stage) thrown in for good measure (or he may just tease the audience by playing Prince DJ or Karaoke). disbelief

nod @ both posts. This interview must be for the new fans and the dumb fans bcuz Prince is just trying to plug his upcoming concerts. If he doesn't play w/ the Revolution at some point during this tour I'm going to think he can be a total bullshitter for publicity. Someone said on another thread that his behavior is unacceptable to adult sensiblilites and I must agree. I think Prince knows only the dumb fans will go back and forth debating what he meant in his interviews and/or get bent out of shape by what other fans say about the current woman by his side. Soon it's not going to be fun being a member of this fan site. I feel dumb for joining now that I think about it. lol

It's quite nauseating reading the constant whiny, whingy posts that come out on nearly every thread. I just can't help but think WHY! Why, if the man annoys them so much, why waste time reading and writing posts on his FANsite? I know they loved him when he was in his glorious 80's pomp and that's their validation for spending all that time whining, but it's really quite sad. I liken it to not being able to let go of an ex-girlfriend! 1984 was a long time ago, time to let go and let those of us who still appreciate and love the man's music and wonderfully weird ways have some decent discussion about one of the greatest pop stars ever, without the threads decending into boring battles of prince is great vs prince is a complete and utter t**t, as most seem to.

An instrument or catalyst 4 triggering the innate self- healing in others, like me for example.

He has the ability of the person to whom I direct my energies to.

I still have several, servral hours to wait till the time is up, might as well use it 4 good.

Hmmm - surely you realise that he was NOT hinting that he will be playing with the Revolution?! It's a play on words, as usual. The entire reason that "Revolution" was put in quotation marks is to disassociate it from the band. He's talking about mediums with which music is listened to and says that music sounds better when some "revolution" is involved - i.e. when something is spinning around, which is to say a piece of vinyl or a cd. Get it now? So much for what "dumb fanz" might think!

In Prince defence, not sure whats with all the moaning about this email and him using the word Revolution. If he does do a reunion with them fantastic, if he doesn't so what, look how long ago it was. Some people need to get over it already and just letitgo. Prince doesn't owe or need to do anything with past band members, its his choice and they're still his friends.

And yes the hits can be tiresome for the hardcore fans who've been to mulitple shows, but if he does play more obsure songs he will not draw in the audience numbers. Theres a lot of casual fans and new fans out there that do fill up the venues and they wanna hear the hits, he has to go where the bigger market is and cannot really just cater about a small percentage of hardcore fans constantly because it doesn't always work with the main audience. I can see why he plays the hits. The only way to deal with the hardcore fans is to get a fanclub thing going on, but we all know hes not interested in the internet anymore so it stays as it is for now.

I enjoyed the interview throughly! :)

It was nice seeing Prince interact with someone using his typical subsitution of words, although he did use 'To'. Lol. He also seems very down to earth. Haha. I am also glad that he has managed to still record music, & that this bad influence has finally caused him to record..it will be around the corner until the album is released it seems. I hopeeee SO! Still the same talk about regulation & a change in the industry, but at the same time he seems involved. The internet is obviously not dead because he seems to be on it, which is expected of him. As someone said, he declared it was dead, but it can't be that dead, for it's the only way we could buy tickets..ONLINE. He would not have any one to attend his show if they did not buy the tickets online. I mean that's the age we live in! Haha. Nevertheless this was a pleasure to read, I don't think he's working with the 'Revolution' either. He has never given up on NPG since he announced them in 88' so we should stop wishing. Although I did have a dream he released 'Dreamfactory'! Now would not that be fantastic! Haha

I wish I could attend the Canada shows! I'm expecting the change up of setlists! I don't know why people complain about the setlists because out of the many shows he has done since October 2010 many of them are not similar. He has many songs, and they are not all from the 80's. Lol. I'm pretty happy for what Prince is doing, he remains true to his controversial outlook. Ultimately, this was a cool read! smile

Putting the words in quotes - which draws attention to it and also makes it seem more like a name - does the complete opposite of that. Why even put quotes around it or call attention to it at all, if he was just referring to a record or whatever spinning around or something that's simply in the act of revolving? No, he said the words solely to get, as umanbing aptly described, the "dumb fans" wondering if he's going to do something with his old band again and to get some kind of interest in him going again.

He's played dumb games like that in the media and with his fans his entire career. And it wasn't like it was a "slip of the tongue", something he said off the top of his head in a live interview. It was planned. And again I say, bored . lol

We can agree to disagree. I did say this was a play on words. Meaning, he's playing on the fact that he once had a band called the Revolution, but is actually talking about recorded mediums. That is, indisputably, what the sentence is about and its only the people who won't see past that who are inferring that he is talking about a reunion.

I'm loathed to quote Wikipiedia, but for speed, here's some support about the quote marks.

"Quotation marks or inverted commas (informally referred to as quotes or speech marks)[1] are punctuation marks at the beginning and end of a quotation, direct speech, literal title or name. Quotation marks can also be used to indicate a different meaning of a word or phrase than the one typically associated with it and are often used to express irony. Quotation marks are sometimes used to provide emphasis in lieu of other typographic means, though this is usually considered incorrect."
