ok .. i love these podcasts .. but ronnie talk to russia as the best song on the record? comparing it to zappa? what zappa? why does it hurt when i pee zappa? my gawd! perhaps it is time for a new panel .. are u seriously hyping this song?

Haha. It's OK. You're free to have an opinion. It was only Captain who said he skips "Do Me Baby" and considers "RT2R" his favourite. He has a (shall we say) "unique" ear, but we love him for it

I'm not necessarily going to praise "Ronnie, Talk to Russia" but I have always felt that "Do Me, Baby" is vastly overrated. Many others feel differently. That's ok but I think it is important to remember that everyone has their own opinion and they are all valid. Earlier you referred to "No More Candy 4 U" as "shit." Well, I can tell you that at least one person (me) really enjoys that song. For me it is probably the best song on MPLSoUND. I'm not telling you not to speak up and offer your opinions and I think this place would be dreadfully dull if we all agreed on everything all of the time but maybe try to be a bit more even-handed with your criticisms.

*slightly miffed though at the implication that Prince's female fans can't simply appreciate a podcast solely dedicated to Prince's music.

They're very kind towards Controversy but by the end you get a sex change so swings and roundabouts.

I have to admit it, I was never that big on the title track. There are so many more songs I like more, but it's pretty obvious that the song is super funky--obviously it is that cold funk, but it really does groove.

Hard to believe it's been 30 years.

Seems like only yesterday my girlfriend (now my wife) stole the above poster from out of a vinyl record at Target. I was aghast. But I guess her stepdad ripped hers off her wall and she needed a new one. She could have just asked for mine.

Haha. Yeah, I can't remember who said that (Captain or MC I think?), but the more I think about it I reckon that would be a cool way of doing it live - kind of like the "What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do... Ms. Rhonda?", "What are you gonna do... Renato?!" section from the Montreux 2009 show.
