He's out there somewhere, plotting his trek through Canada. Maybe he'll invite Canadian musicians onstage with him this time, as he invited American musicians on his recent Welcome 2 America. Then he'll go country to country around the globe jammin' with musicians wherever he goes, and recording as well in a portable studio. Ok, it's 5:46 am, and I am still partially in dream state. You know what hit me today - pick any 5 year span of princes career from 1977 to around 2000 and look at the difference in the first and last year of that span.
Since about 2000 ever year has been the same - nice suit, stood at a mic stand, nice generic stratocaster in hand, singing songs about how great he is and how shit people who aren't like him are. 5 years ago he played the O2 and nothing's changed since...in fact album wise nothing has changed since Crystal Ball ( I try to pretend TRC and ONA didn't happen)...wonder why he's not changing stuff up anymore?! ^ Because he's growing older! He doesn't need to prove himself any more! Been there done that. Look at the amazing work he has done. No one has to walk on the tips of their toes all their lives. He can relax now and just enjoy himself performing. Besides, I'll take Prince playing guitar over Prince dancing around any day. | |

I agree. I've been watching DVD's from the purple rain and lovesexy era's lately and although they are great, I think the quality of music is compromised for all his running around and stuff. In fact i hate the stages with fans all sides of it, give me a one sided stage and his undivided attention on the music any day. | |

he's gotten older and the creative spark has gone out for the most part. When he was in his 20s, he couldn't stop himself from creating new music. Now he probably just doesn't feel like it...he isn't inspired. That's just the way it goes. | |

Don't agree with this at all. Prince creates music almost every day. The issue as I see it that he is 95% handicapped with his religious thought process and it is impacting his art. | |

^I agree with that. There's a tv interview where he says religion is pretty much all he talks about to evertone. That creates a tunnelvision if you ask me and that doesn't make good art.. But of course he will say that his religion has made him a wiser and better person. There you go, even if Prince does nothing, we find something to babble about!   | |

The WHOLE world and wherever he goes, jam with musicians, record it and throw it on the net.
Can you imagine Prince with an African drum band? Or Prince making latin music with Cuban or wait... Peruvian musicians? Or Prince making classical Chinese music? Or Prince...

Your right. I wish he would just go ahead and officially retire. Its painful to listen to his new music nowadays so why not. Just play the "legends" greatest hits tours and leave the music to the young cats out now. | |

While you're waiting here's what u can do on a typical day when you are really jonesing for some purpleness...
Wake up and do a little tai-bow to the LoveSexy album. Then have a protein shake while you watch "Purple Rain". Then take a shower as the cassette of Around The World In A Day plays on your ghetto blaster. Then call some friends over for some lunch (I suggest turkey meat) as you discuss The Rainbow Children and how much you love or hate it as it plays. Then go outside and play some croquet to Parade. When evening falls have a cocktail (or ten) to Dirty Mind. Have more cocktails as you dance to The Black Album. Then after you are nice and lubed up, watch "Under The Cherry Moon" and drink every time you and your friends hear a word or phrase in French (or everytime you hear the phrase "that says what?"). When all your friends leave, drunk dial that special someone and make out/fuck the taste out of their mouths to 1999. As "Free" plays lay in bed in post coital bliss and thank God for creating a soulful, funky, genius such as Prince. Enjoy... I wish u heaven | |

^When these came out, there was a show on Dutch tv where the played them. The host said, now everybody be very very quiet, for this is the point where you can hear Ringo move his stool. Of course we heared nothing. So yeah, I think remasters are very overrated. Still the same music! | |
