the song "Mellow" .
It's truly blowing my mind that such a GREAT song is getting dissed lately WTF?? I know, opinions are like assholes, blah blah blah... well, I'm an asshole who loves the shit outta this song!!! It's one of the best on TRC & one of my faves. How can anyone dislike it? Are they mad ? Have they given up on sensuality?? :O Do they just wanna piss me off??? Good NESS! What's the deal, y'all?? Who loves it & who's in the dark on the sexiness of this cut (i.e. hates it)?? I wanna get lost in the composition of you, learn the rhythm & play the only note you want me to... LAWD, people!! Where's the love for this one??

sounds like an artist/symbol tune. over-produced in a way. not my favourite at first. it's cool now, though. don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain i'm high, so high

Now I like it, but at first it seemed out of place on the album - it could have been on any Prince album from the last 10 years, whereas the rest is a new style for him, both musically and lyrically.
I wasn't keen on Muse at the time the album came out either, but now I find myself singing both Muse and Mellow probably once a day...

The entire cd is a masterpiece. I love every song. I don't like all the religious yadda, yadda, but the music and his voice are superb. There are indeed some great songs on this cd.

No problem with...Great song from a Great Album. My personal fav is 'The Sensual Everafter', only a few people on this site feel me, when it comes to that one.

Blue That one's great too I REALLY like the instru @ the end of Rainbow Children, I still think that should have been a track by itself I guess that instru stands out more to me, but Sensual Everafter is definitely nice

I just love it! It's my fav on The Rainbow Children. To me, the live version is better. On the album, I reproach Prince for putting too many backvocals which tends to smother the melody and sensuality of his own voice. ________________________________________________

I think the song really fits into TRC and is so coool and sensuous much like prince knows how to do them... Really I like the sensual side of the song and its so smooth... "Goodness will guide us when love is inside of us... The Force will be with you, always"

It's my least favorite on TRC for sure. It just sounds contrived, like Prince is "trying" to be cool and hip with the Maceo and Common references as well as throwing "chill" in there. Trying to be cool only comes across as desperation. Worse, the song bores me.
I do love the "Besides you know it takes awhile for me to do my hair" bit though.

Although he's said Maceo in live versions, it's 'Macy and Common' - as in Macy Gray. They were all at an aftershow in the Hit 'n' Run Tour - Chicago, right?

Well, I certainly would not have referred to it as or said it was like "a recurring fungus" ... like SOME people did!
I'm just not crazy about it. --ยปYou're my favourite moment, you're my Saturday...

It fits with the jazzy mode that he is in, but it is not a favorite of mine. I dig on "Everywhere" and "Everlasting Now". It's a cool CD...

I couldn't quite get into it at first. I love it now that I have seen it performed live.

I liked it better live than on the CD. I like the funkiness of TRC...this one gets lost, and it ain't mellow.

I like the outtro to the song, but it's just kind of got that feel of a mellow, slow jam that he's done more successfully in the past. It doesn't quite stack up. Not bad though.

I love mellow that is one of my favorite songs on the album if not my favorite. remember some of these folks are the same people that said that adore sucks. and that says what?
