No wonder Prince is hesitant to release a new album with such fierce critics here.....
I think most of even his recent albums are really great and look forward to any new music that Prince may release.
It's also the possibility that he'll release a live album from say the North Sea Jazz festival which featured many songs he usually doesn't do live. Perhaps the studio outing was to fine tune the live album ?

Why not reunite the Revolution? If he really wants to be #1 at the bank, why doesn't he put all the bullshit aside and release Dream Factory as he wanted to all those years ago and tour with the Revolution. There would be a few hits (at least) from the album, he could let WB or whoever get a cut so they will promote it. The vids would still be hot (in that weird, cool, phychadelia sorta way) as I think Lisa and Wendy just have that "it" factor. God rest his soul, but Sheila E can replace Bobby Z, and bam-- $$. The tour would be worth a cagillian dollars. Then next year he releases an expanded Purple Rain LP with bonus tracks and remastered material. Mo money, mo money, mo money. Why is this not happening? Seems like a no brainer!!!
I know, not gonna happen. A man can dream tho.
Why would Sheila replace Bobby in a Revolution re-union? Bobby is still alive and still playing drums - he and Fink played with Andre Cymone a couple weeks ago in MPLS. |

1. You dont know if Prince is heistant or actually working on a project to release soon
2. Prince is going to release or not release according his desires, and its not dependent on what people on the prince.org feel about his current output or not
3. @ you thinking he is going to release North Sea Festival performance "Climb in my fur." |

Not trying to pile it on or anything, but I also laughed at that. I mean, he has such a stronge track record when it comes to releasing live albums and all. |

Not to get off topic of Prince new masterpiece album he is putting together.
But I would like 2 C his original band make a reunion. When I say original I mean, Bobby "Z" Rivkin,(Glad he has recovered)Dez Dickerson,(Prince best lead guitarist ever)MeLisa Coleman,(Prince best moody chords keyboard player) & the very talented musical equal best friend as a child lookalike bass player Andre"Cymone" Anderson..

He would record and album more mainstream. A thing that would be played in radion and make some singles. A Duet with one of these girl artists like Beyonce will bring prince to the top again, with good publicity. |

After seeing mixed reviews of Prince releasing another album, I thought I would voice my opinion on what core elements could be pieced together to build a new Prince classic:
- Seek out Wendy and Lisa
- Collaborate with some old friends
- Bring a couple up-and-coming artists in the mix
- Promote the album properly
- While much of his music catalog has been LIGHT YEARS ahead of today's music, at times it misses a certain X-factor: Wendy and Lisa. When I listen to the records they contributed to during most of Prince's '80s run, the impact of the record is out of this world. Some may agree or disagree but I believe this would be a great first step.
- It's been some time since we've heard from the likes of Sheila E. or The Time so if Prince were to have them make an appearance or two on some songs, it would be the cherry on top for old-school and new-school listeners alike.
- I know this is a stretch for Prince because he keeps a tight group on his projects but reaching out to artists he felt would benefit the album would be great to see. Artists such as Esperanza Spalding (who's currently on tour with him), MGMT (great psychedelic rock group) or Adele (one of the best singers in music today IMO) could all be incredible choices.
- This is one of the most important elements to putting Prince back in the mainstream: promotion. While I greatly respect Prince doing things his way, I feel that lack of promotion is what has hurt him over time. If he can work out a deal with the right people to help get his album recognition, it would do wonders for him and his career.
Understand, I'm merely speaking as a fan. Much of today's music bores me and with Michael Jackson no longer with us, Prince is the go-to-guy to bring quality music back into the mainstream. |

Hi!
re 1. True I don't know if he is hesitant or not. I guess I was just referring to the harsh critcisin each of his new albums recieve here. He's doing everything a fan base could ask for. Fans say they want an acoustic piano ablum. He releases One Night Alone. People say they want a guitar album, he releases Lotusflow3r. Fans say we want the old sound from the 1980s, he releases Mplssound and 20Ten. All of the above gets very harsh criticism from many so called fans on here.I could give more examples of this.
re 2. I agree with the second point BUT if fans were less likely to critize everything, I think he would be more likely to release new material. There's a a reason why Prince plays the hits at his concerts; that's what a lot of people want to hear! He DOES listen to his fans as I pointed out above.
re 3. I don't think that's so far fetched but I'm glad I amused you
