This is the best news I could even hear right now! Right when I go to Sweden for a couple of months Prince might be working on a new album! This is just great! I really hope he does release one, and that he promotes it...whatever that means in Prince's world. Lol. I would love to see him on TV performing these songs...Although I can not see him touring for the album, since he has been so much these last past months, this is wonderful news!!! I sure hope he does it, and shows the world again...he can make another album. DESPITE SAYING HE WOULD NOT SO RECENTLY.

Sure he promised he would not release another album...as recentl..anyways...THIS needs to be done. I was just watching an interview he gave in 2009 in Paris, when he said he hoped to released albums once in a while...and this is the perfect 'while'. A worldwide release would be nice...20Ten was awesome but I wouldn't be surprised if many Americans did not hear the whole thing. Lotusflow3r was the last 'offical worldwide' release and that was stellar!!! I look forwards to what is next from the Purple Yoda! Haha...

My feeling is that he won't release any album until late spring next year at best.

perhaps a one off song being given a couple of spins on radio somewhere later

I wish he'd just throw out some nice tunes through movies. Get his songs tied

to a film and release it on the soundtrack. That way he wouldn't have to find a

channel for release but just take the cash and let them do it.

well given the way "planet earth" and "20Ten" were released I'm quite suprised that he

hasn't used that model to release an album in the US yet.

although I still have a feeling that he planned to release something in the US with that

magazine that ran the add saying "get ready for a hot summer" or something like that,

but which later didn't materialise into anything beyond "hot summer" being shipped to

I think I'm asking too much to be honest. Okay, maybe the Will Young one was on bittorrent but at least I bought the single.

All I'm asking for is no more Prince-by-numbers. I don't want him to listen to the fans (which makes this redundant) but I do want him to get a producer in. Fresh blood for an old man.

But being a lifelong fan (but not one of the kiss arse sycophants like [insert the names we all know]) I'll still buy it. Even if it's crap. Hell, I bought Planet Earth on import for its holographic cover. And it still didn't have liner notes! Cheap ass mother fucker.

I take what he has and see the reflection in my life. Nothing too personal, and nothing too distant. I love what he has to offer, and from each album he releases I am assured at least 3 gems in the whole masterpiece he releases...That to me speaks more the sour ones. So I guess it's...Quality over Quanity in this case.

I would like Prince to do a cohesive concept album and experiment with new sounds, I would love to see him do a double album with a storyline and all kinds of unexpected twists and turns and all kinds of genras. i'd love to see him work with an orchestra or do something more classical-esque. Not a cheesy rock opera though. I'd also like him to take time writing his lyrics, when he puts his mind to it he can write some pretty witty and interesting lyrics but recently its almost as if he just says whatever is going through his head, and more often than not, its usually bland and pointless

It had about 9 or 10 tracks with cool names...to be released in November..

It was also released exclusively via Dr.Funkenberry in an internet deal...

I hope Prince and the Revolution don't get back together. It was a one time thing and now it's over. Prince was/is better off without them even in THAT era. I prefer him do everything (instruments, production, backround vocals) all by himself like in the For You album.

I would absolutely love a jazz record featuring a certain number of jazz masters, with Herbie Hancock for example. Of course, orchestra arrangements by Clare Fisher ; Wendy and Lisa would be involved...

As this will never see the light of the day, I'm just dreaming...

Seriously. I'm not saying they're better musicians or that their ideas were BETTER than Prince's... just that when you get a bunch of people in a room playing music together (as was the case for some of the Dream Factory sessions, if I recall) you're gonna get input and ideas that you couldn't have thought of on your own.
