Compare this to some songs played in leno 2001-2004 (dorothy parker, everlasting now, musicology) the band was WAY tighter back then. First two songs were messy as hell. Please fire shelby and those other stage ornaments as well. It got better to the end, anotherlover was cool, too bad he didn't play the whole version of Shh.
He did but canal + edited it!!!! I was watching the live stream, when it was live. And he did the full Shhh.
^
yes, the live transmission on the internet ended around 21:00 while Prince was still playing Shhh/ DMSR.
This is probably - my guess - why some of Shhh is missing, they were cut off, later the end of the show was added to the stream clip...... But they did not manage to make this edit right.
Fabulous show, I am still in Prince heaven Prince 4Ever. |

(Select 'Suite 1' for Prince interview)
This is funky...is that first song a new song or a cover?!
Is People Pleaser a new Prince song or an Andy Allo one?
A VERY impressive performance - some great guitar playing by P and liked the SOTT era look. He seemed very happy too, smiling a lot.
Notice the cowboy boots - fun!!
Can't wait for the 3rd July Hop Farm
Thank U... !
I am watching the 30 minutes clip once again

What the hell are you talking about?!!!!! I watched it live on TV with my great sound system and it is just amazing. They were just back from Montreal. They headed off straight to Canal + after this long trip. Showing such energy... woaw... I'm speechless. I thought this band is tight as hell. Ida is amazing and John Blackwell is well, John Blackwell. This was real music. No rehearsal. Nothing. They just played like they would in a Club.
I'm talking about what I can hear. I'm sure your sound system is good, but all I can say is that I didn't enjoy this recording as much as the ones I mentioned above. This is autopilot Prince. Which is ok! But not mindblowing. And yes I know, John and Ida can be very funky: the moment Prince said "bass & drums" in Let's work in the Viage Show in november was one the funkiest moments I've experienced in my life. That was tight. This, was a cacaphony. They have it in them. But the band needs to be stripped down imo. Bass, drums, prince. Or bass, drums, prince, keyboard player, sax-man. But not bass, drums, prince, keyboard player, bad keyboard player, guitar girl who doesn't play, background singer who can't stay where she belongs (in the background) + another background singer. I miss those jellyfish from montreux, they added more to the band than some of the members do now.

TONS and TONS better than what he did on the Lopez show (or even what I saw of his W2A shows).
And, I'm glad he FINALLY added a rhythm guitarist to the band. I don't know how long Andy will perform with him, but her playing rounds out the sound tremendously!! So, her job is purely to make Prince smile, since he always seems so serious in pictures and whatnot, hmmm? Yeah, they fuckin'. That and him supposedly wearing her clothes from being up since the Montreux shows (I know it was a joke, but I'm sure he has at some point already, lol) says to me he's gettin' some of that Allo puss. And good for him, because I'd be all up in that sweet, cute little thing.
Still, I have to say, get rid of Shelby. That whole "hype woman" shit is for the boids. This was one of her least "overpowering" appearances, though. Still, she needs to go. Great voice. Great talent. Just too too for a Prince band/show. The backing vox can easily be sufficiently done by the rest of the crew.
And one more thing. NO RENATO TURNING PRINCE'S SHIT TO A JAZZ LITE LOUNGE SHOW!! Yes!!!!!
Renato quote is funny lol "tonight ur a Star and I'm the Big dipper" |

This is everything but autopilot Prince. This is the laid back Prince we see in aftershows. Real music, fantastic musicianship. This was everything but cacophony. You probably listened to the website version whose sound is so compressed and awful. On Satellite TV, it was crystal clear and an absolute killer show.

This is exactly what I believe too. Sadly this is exactly what the Europe gigs gonna be, and Prince is on experimental trip at the moment. Yes, he can get the freshness maybe from that entourage, but something doesn't feel right. I'm very disappointed at the moment. We've seen so many good gigs from LA, and this is such a cheap thing going around at the moment...shame! I feel let down! Prince I will always miss and love U. |

In believeit is Jerome Benton who chucks The Kid' cheeks and says, "So exciting" right at the start of Purple Rain.
So excited is how I feel moment. I haven't seen Prince so imaginative in quite some time.
A couple of thoughts occur:
1. Prince is stupid.
2. He ain't as stupid as we think he is.
3. The burqa comment would fly in France.
4. That's quite clever.
5. He's a JW; they would long for the control of Islam.
6. He's not an actual JW; it may have been a marketable comment prior to his European dates.
7. Prince is stupid, though - refer to point 1.
8. Shit, he might actually have some songs in the vault.
9. SO EXCITING! |

People Pleaser was a tiresome funk drawl that never got off the ground. The other track whatever boring 'we are funky' thing it was called - these are live jams not songs, reminds me of 97/98 era - I expect the next album (lol) to be full of 'Freaks On This Side' kind of duffers. |
