Prince on his own would fail. without livenation or AEG he would be good as retired. Also I just went to livenation.com and there is huge prince advertisements all over still

for one it redirects to ticketmaster

and they (livenation) may have to finish the next few shows. (May 29th is the last date it shows)

Illuminations

Well, speaking of LiveNation, I just received my 2 tee shirts, two posters and two vip laminates. The shirts are not like what was shown, they are shirts with the lyric " Whatever skin you're N, we all need 2 b friends".. instead of the black t shirt with him and the bass. I guess they ran out??? I'm going to try to sell these things, probably won't get much. I've also got the two vip purple package tickets... don't they usually give you stubs instead of the entire ticket? They gave me back the entire ticket... if so, I'll sell those also. probably on that ioffer place... pretty cool. Okay....... since I'm "off topic" go ahead and bend me over and really give it to me.. lol

Bassist: Yea, let's hit the clubs!

Blackwell: I think we achieved what we set out to do here

Prince:Listen... it's not that

Hayes: What is it then?

Prince:Payment may be little slower than expected

Shelby: It's all about the music. We can wait a little while longer

Hayes: Shelby, could you please shut your bald kissing ass up?

Renato: That's it, I've had it. I've had it!! (slams keyboard on floor)

Prince: Wow...umm

Renato: Please continue... I wait for you to finish, eh?

Prince: Okay... we may have another problem

Renato: Dear dios do not say it ...

Prince: The visas may ....be held up & some may be going back

Ida: We...had..sorted this out I thought,no?

Hayes:Let me be blunt: Nigga, are you out of ya muthafuckin mind?

Prince: :Speechless: We don't use language...

Hayes: Nah nah nah...fuck that. If you don't pay, John is gonna fuck you up. He aint come all the way out here for this shit. Cora aint play that shit either. Where the fuck she go?

Prince: Money is tight,brother.

Hayes: Maybe you need to ditch a few hair stylists or get rid of that symbol stage. Nobody cares about that shit but a couple of delusional fans and you! You might want to cut back on your goddamn photo shoots. I don't know, do fuckin something

Prince: I'm running out of options

Hayes:You ever wonder why everyone cut you off?

Prince: :Sighs:

Hayes: Get your shit together if Live Nation is jerking you then you better.......

:Loud Crash:

Well...hick well look who it is? Welcome 2 :hick: America

Hayes: Oh shit, the bitch is back.

Bria Valente: Listen....you need to :hick: pay your band. Because...we are going to work on our second project together...

Hayes: Bitch You can't sing! We tried to tell you that. No one was checking for you on fucking myspace. You wasted his money!

Hayes: Turn around Heffer!

:Bria turns around:

Bria: Hey.... it's time we (stumbling).....record :hick: again

Prince: Yea... now isn't a good time.

Bria: Listen!! (Stomps feet)

Prince: ::looks away and whispers to security:

Bria: :Security Drags her away: I know you made my project...fail on purpose, Mr Nelson!! ::points accusing finger: You packaged your shitty albums with my :hick: amazing debut. I listened...to my baby :hick: last night! Lotus Flower is a pile of crap compared to Elixir. And you were sending your yes men to Prince org to sabotage me! Missster Nelssson, I am on to u! The new project isss... gonna be called Tweelixir. It's a combo...of twitter and elixir... My idea! MRRRR NELSON & I want full attention or....media take out here I........ :falls flat on her face & passes out on floor:

:Band & Hayes walks away muttering " Wasting his time distracted trying to chase hits with tonedeaf bitches. Can you believe this shit? Maxwell wouldn't do that shit to us."

There is way more to this story. He has not paid them for last week yet because he didn't make enough.

no new info but maybe soon:

"Speculation from Prince's fans say it's due to the lagging ticket sales for the rest of his residency; a query clarifying what this means for the 21 Nite Stand has been sent to Live Nation and we'll update as we find out more. "

Prince, one of the most prolific and groundbreaking artists of our time, has declared a string of purple days in Los Angeles. He will bring his extraordinary WELCOME 2 AMERICA Live tour back to the West Coast with the announcement of a 21 nite stand in Los Angeles.

"He had the crowd panting as soon as he hit the stage...It was unbelievably great. Do you go to a Prince show for predictable consistency? Ah, no. You go for moments of divinely inspired madness - and last night, he delivered as many of those as a fan could expect." - Rolling Stone

"Spinning, strutting and swaying in his towering heels as if no time had passed since the days he dominated MTV with his angular suits and perfectly sculpted hair...neither his fantastic voice nor his dynamic legs showing any signs of slowing down." - San Francisco Chronicle

"Prince worthy of all royal accolades...The hit-friendly show had a kinetic confidence and racing pace that spoke of his singular place in pop history." - New York Daily News

"It's easy to envision Prince as another Chuck Berry or James Brown, barnstorming for decades to come." - New York Times

"Any doubt that the diminutive singer could still bring the heat was put to rest at the explosive concert that kicked off the Welcome 2 America tour...Prince, remarkably, remains at the height of his powers. He's a national treasure. Catch him while you can." - Star Ledger

I wouldn't be shocked if all the shows aren't selling out. Prince shouldn't have done 21 nights in LA. If he wanted to do that many shows he should have stayed in NYC.

More people can get to NYC easier and more people would be willing to travel there. LA? Come on.

Plus the show lost cache with him going to the Carolinas right before. Poor planning.

Not sure about that. You could argue that with broadway etc, NYC is more of a tourist destination thus able to draw from a larger non-local pool of potential ticket buyers (like Vegas) but I for one travelled from Sydney to LA to catch two shows - and didn't do it for NYC.

I think the problem is Prince is relying on quick announcements of shows and tickets sales. Some folks aren't as spontaneous as him, lol.

At least with the above shows announced in advance they should sell out and let people plan ahead.

The thing with 21 nights is there are 21 of them. No rush to get tickets for the next show. The fact that there are 21 makes them all less interesting. Yes I know about London. I still think that Is part of the problem. As is the $25 tickets.

the people who's lights are cut off at home and there kids are starving so that they may go to all 21 shows are just as bad at the people who have long negative rants to say about prince everytime he makes a mistake. both extremes have always been stupid to me, you are both obsessed in different ways. the great Oz has spoken lol

Talk about hit the nail on the head! I made all but 2 of the NY NJ shows, would have made them all with a little more notice. Still holding on to hope that he make Chicago... maybe i'll get my next fix there smile

Yeah! You really have to wonder what is wrong with people that they can't be assed paying 10 or 25 $ to see a legendary performer like Prince... there will come a day when he won't perform anymore. Sure, not everyone can travel such short notice, but there are millions and millions of people living in and around L.A..

How long has he been using that same stage setup.

One thing that struck me is that it doesn't seem that he changes the look or feel of his tours anymore.

You get a different poster, sure. But the actually stage appears about the same. You throw in the twins, then Brian, and now Misty (poor thing).

But it doesn't change much.

It's like each tour doesn't feel any different from the previous one. Hell, even the set lists aren't all that different. lol

Since 2006 probably...

Not true! He used that stage at the 2007 Superbowl and in London! He didn't use it again until the 2010 W2A shows. And to be honest, that stage is awesome... especially for people not sitting on the floor. So I can't blame him for using it!

nod Best stage he has ever come up with. It fits him 2 a tee & makes a powerful statement. He should always tour big stadiums with this stage.. Good view from the nose bleeds & anywhere...

^^Yeah! That stage is practical and also something for the eye... much better than the boring end stage or the monstrosity of a stage he had on the Musicology tour! After seeing him in London I was kinda disappointed in seeing him on a normal stage again. I'm glad it is back... it also looks cool on video bootlegs! razz wink

I don't really know why everyone is worried about with this Live Nation issue , but I was there on Saturday night ( and 3 other nights before that) and the show was sold out. Granted a lot of seats were $25.00 , but many seats sold for much more than that.

However you cut it.

1) $25.00 to park the greater than 7,000 cars

2) ticket sales for +/- 17,000 people

3) $10.00 per beer/wine

4) food concessions $

equals a whole lot of DINERO and tax dollars for an area like Inglewood that otherwise would have never been generated in this lifetime by any other artist. I am grateful for Prince . I was born and raised in this area and have never seen soooo many people excited and talking about a single concert like this in my life.

There are more than a million people that live and travel in and out of LA daily. I think it's a great venue. NO ONE has ever done this before. He has allowed people of all genres to experience his music. Can't Hate That!

Parking is a separate venue that charges not related to the church.

Concessions belong to church.

Only tickets and merch go to the artist, crew, production costs, band, venue rental, insurance... there is a huge list of expenses.

He fired LN because they cant pay his fee per show (1m) but he wants 25 tix prices. Imagine if you produced the show? Do the math. You don't make any money. Remember, they already invested in commercials, billboards, radio ads, print, etc.

PS. The PR chick, the Rep, Prince everybody is lying. Oddly enough, the big conglomerate that would normaly be the one lying through their sphincters, isn't this time around.

Band members dont have a fly swatter's idea of whats going on.

In the end, he will have had his 21 night stand but for 2100 bucks in his pocket.

Its great for Inglewood but it doesnt actually generate any money for that area other than the Church (not a bad thing) and the bootlegging tshirt guys, shit, they're tees are better than whats at the venue.

Bart is actually right, as much as I'm not in agreement of most of what he says.

Everything you say may be right with the exception being Live Nation/Ticketmaster since they are still working with him but who really cares. This is a win/win situation for Inglewood, prince fans, and the church who cannot make money off of concessions if no one is playing at the venue. If Prince makes $2100.00 off of each show so what it is 2100 more than he had the night before and I am sure if this was killing him financially he would stop doing the shows.

Plenty of people win in this situation and to constantly bring up the negatives tells us so much about you and the other negative people. It is P's money and his business let him run it the way he wants to and just be glad that people have a chance to see him for 25.00.

When you do a series of 21 gigs in such a crisis context, it seems right. Many tours and shows are cancelled over the world at the moment due to poor sales.

I think Prince did incredibly well for someone who is not signed with a major, who has no proper cd release in the stores lately, who is not following a promo marketing plan and who is announcing shows at the last minute.

I think it's a miracle he has filled in arenas in NYC, NS, SC and in California this way! In fact, it's quite an amazing achievement.

How Dare you have some POSITIVITY on this thread or speak any type of PRAISE. This is the org ...land of the unappreciativemuthafuggaswhoclaim2bfansbutwhine/criticize/complainatanyandallthings,yetstillcomeplayhismusicand attend hisshows.

SO, SO, TRUE. I hardly visit this site, but nonetheless, a diehard true fan though. I grew up with Prince, he's 3 years my elder, so I'm not a newbie. Saw him 7x at The Forum. Each time, amazing and awesome. But this site. Whew! This site. Are these supposed to be Prince fans??? My gawwwd! Makes me wonder. Oh and btw maybe his true intention wasn't to sell out each night, although would've been nice, of course. Maybe the intention wasn't for everyone across the nation/world to drop whatever they were doing and fly to LA on a whim! Maybe it was just a sweet treat for his LA peeps....just maybe. And we, in LA, I know for a fact, loved, loved, LOVED our Prince candy. So no more candy for all YOU haters!!!! lol

U're the reason eye took a rope and lassoed the moon 2 prove that when it comes to you there's nothing that eye won't do. Eye would stare in2 the sun if u would be mine it's not so great a leap since 2 all others I am blind.
