I used to be a 10 out of 10 Prince fan......

not anymore, I guess I am lukewarm - on level 6 or 7 right now.

I don't even care about downloading bootlegs anymore.

I feel bored I guess.. as a fan of Prince since 1983......

What does 10/10 entail though? I'm pretty crazy about him right now, moreso in the last 12mths than ever before, but I know there are plenty of others above me on a sliding scale.

Relative to my own personal scale though, I'm a 10, in that if I were any more into Prince (or anyone, for that matter) right now I'd be more than a little concerned, so I consider this my ceiling.

When I first discovered Prince in the early nineties, I would have been around a 7. I loved the music of his that I had, but not enough to run out and buy all of his albums.

Then it waned down to about a 4 as he almost dropped off my radar in the late nineties, perhaps even lower when 1999 did my head in during the millenium celebrations.

Then the Rainbow Children came out and it was a steady climb from there (as I started not only collecting new material, but the old material I'd not considered previously).

i am about a 9 out of 10.....i still think he is a genius and still the most fascinating figure in popular music right now...apart from maybe the late 90s when....for me....he lost his way but he has always been fasinating since the early 80s....even guys here who think he has lost it in the last 10 or 15 years would still say he is always worth keeping an eye on because you just never know what he is going to do next....

10/10 .. Apart from the fact that his music is the soundtrack to my life, I find him as a person quite intriguing

if u asked me in 88 i would say 10/10 both for the music and the personality. during the 90s that waned to 6 for music and 5 for personality. nowadays i'd rate the music at 5 and personality 2. i just can't stand his jw preaching, and that chemtrails interview finished me off

10 for me. I listen to songs from each era and enjoy them. While i admit his 80's output was his best, he's made plenty of songs i like over the past 20 years or so- and its unrealistic to expect someone in their fifties to be at their peak.

What i dont get it the negativity. If you dont like any album he has done in several years, why bitch about it? Why not move on to some other artist? You dont have to like his recent work if it doesnt appeal to you, but te whining on this board is way too much.

I've been listeneing to some bootlegs recently(box o chocolates, dream factory, dawn 4.1) and the hits/b sides and 1999. Plus the videos for the 17 days, when doves cry, and something in the water rehersals with the revolution. Love it all.

7/10 I love his music and talking about him to people, but I would love to see other people too. I have a life outside of Prince, but I guess my only hardcore behaviour is based around this fansite. Also lets face his JWness and mediocre output has made me less of a fan, when I was 19 I was definetly 10/1q0

I judge myself to be 8.5/10 after reading others posts here. I'm more into the songs from the 80s-90s and dont even have bootlegs, Planet Earth or Lotusflower. I just got 21 Nights at a discount. I'm not into any other artists as much. I've been a fan for 25+ yrs and even wrote something in my high school yearbook referencing his songs! I'm 10/10 at his concerts though and you better give me room to dance & sing!
