Ok, so I finally got Work It vol. 2.0...

... 34 CDs!

Anyway, what should I get next? What comes after Work It vol. 2.0?

Oh, blue light...

Go for some fine Concert Bootlegs,

Small Club aka 'Trojan Horse'

Sound & Vision 1 - 7

Montreux 2009

I'm sure you'll have enough to listen for a while.

I also got 'Work It vol 2.0" two weeks ago, although I allready knew most of it,

but I still discover gems, details and alternative versions I missed in other bootlegs before.

Great that you got yourself Work It 2.0.

You could do no harm in grabbing 30 Years Of Unreleased Funk. 8cd's, 3 volumes.

Some argue that this release has certain recordings in even better quality than on Work It 2.0, though obviously Work It is a lot more comprehensive.

You really need both.

Also, do you have FBG's Box Of Chocolates? An essential release if outtakes are your thing.

Thanks DG! biggrin And everyone else!!

I do have Box Of Chocolates and enjoying it much!

I'm wondering though if any of his later songs like P-Funk, Rich Friends, etc. are on any bootlegs, or are they actual releases and don't count on the circulating 'free' stuff!?

Oh, blue light...

You can get PFUNK on itunes.

Rich Friends is lost to antiquity, hopefully.

I'm not sure if Rich Buddies is circulating (ie on an actual bootleg release).

As mentioned by Spinlight, P-Funk is on i-tunes and it's also on the Eye release called Wow if memory serves correct, shit like Cause And Effect are also on an Eye release too, eh, Lotus Box I think?

Rich Buddies and Hot Summer should be easy enough to find.

I found "Rich Friends" on "From The Vaults" along with several scattered tracks cobbled from older releases.

I would not call any of the Sound & Vision sets "fine concert bootlegs."

They are compilations made up of tv appearances and shit.

Are there songs on the The Work that can't be found on Work It 2.0?

Or can they be found on 30 years of unreleased funk?

And thanks for the guidance, btw! I'm SO enjoying the sounds!

You would really need to ask someone who has every volume of the work, as far as I know Work It 2.0 is an updated version of the work, with the best possible quality outtakes available right now. Also, Work It 2.0 is at least in chronological order, unlike the work which from what I have seen is a jumbled mess.

People will agree with me and people will disagree, there are those who still swear by the work.

But really, Work It 2.0 is THE outtake bootleg to have. The work, should just bow out gracefully once and for all.

No, it hasn't.

And the quality is MUCH worse (even on the Enhanced Version).

And the track order is messy.

Dump it! Don't waste space or discs.
