None of this compares to Michael's TII announcement last year. Nothing. That was the most anticipated and most attended/watched conference of the past 10 or more years. This doesn't "rival" that.
Dang, I just KNEW Mike would be mentioned in this thread eventually.
Hurts your feelings, does it? How's this then: Prince will live to perform this shows. Top that Mike!

See there?
Just before I read that...I had every intention of just...[img:$uid]http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e70/SexyBeautifulOne/lmao.gif[/img:$uid] about the....same ol'...same 'ol... and being on my merry little fucking way.
So don't act like y'all don't know WHY...when I'm though! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart. |

Prince Announces 'Welcome 2 America' Tour
Prince held a press conference at Harlem's Apollo Theater to announce "Welcome 2 America," a forthcoming tour beginning in December 2010. The pop legend will perform and play master of ceremonies at each show, which will feature artists such as Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding and Cassandra Wilson.
"Bring your friends, bring your children," Prince told the audience, "and bring foot spray, because it's going to be funky."
Prince arrived on the Apollo stage at 6:25, following an introduction by BET Executive Vice President of Entertainment & Music Programming Stephen Hill. Wearing a black velour jacket, the singer remained vague about the impending live shows but told the crowd that they would not disappoint.
"Come early, come often. I have a lot of hits... no two shows will be the same," he said.
It was also revealed that a gold-plated Fender guitar that sat on the Apollo stage during the announcement will be auctioned off after the live run, with the proceeds benefiting the economic recovery group Harlem Empowerment Zone.

My faith in twitter has been restored. At least the press conference happened.

Prince is as bad as the military with this "hurry up and wait" stuff.

I'm surprised no one has focused in on the fact that Sinbad is included in the line-up. That should be hilarious, LOL. He must be the opening act, which is hot. Where is the confusion.
Are you serious? People who attended the event don't know if it's a tour or a residency. That's not an announcement, it's a frustration.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, LiveNation would NOT be needed for a residency. Take that however you like.
I guess my lack of actually caring about an announcement that doesn't involve a new album is showing. To me, it's a typically vague mention about Prince's rich friends who will show up at a show with him at some point. Okay. None of those artists are particularly exciting to me, Prince's new shows aren't particularly exciting to me, and Prince doesn't have an internet presence with which to make these stupid announcements about nothing other than to call a press conference.
To me, it's as open and shut as it always is with Prince. |

well nbj i live in new york and the only way i would go 2 this disaster show where the music will be centered only around 3 albums from 20 plus years ago, would be if u NBJ, pyscho and rubymoon would be willing 2 get out here ..otherwise i'm passing on this man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 |
