My mum cracked me up a couple of weeks ago (before the European shows had been announced).

She said casually, "OH, I meant to ask you something. Prince is coming to Australia next year. I was wondering if you wanted tickets for your birthday?"

What followed was a very confusing conversation that involved a lot of and "WHAT? Wait. I'm sorry...what?"

Apparently someone had "announced" this on 3AW the day before (although mum later admitted it might have been on their rumour file, which in fairness is usually not entirely baseless). She said it was definitely him because they were asking if he was still the Artist Formally Known As etc.. usual stuff.

Finally I said (a little exasperated), "Well, I don't know, Mum. I'm monitoring every source I can for news of a Prince tour, and apparently, you, Prince and the good people at Radio 3AW are the only people that know about it!"

The mystery remains unsolved, but I'm yet to even find confirmation of the announcement on 3AW, let alone whether or not it was all bunkum

Bottom line - I'm letting myself get a bit excited, just in case

what a sad world, where people have to reconsider their plans because some idiot with a bomb might want to make a statement, or at least thats what they tell us on the news, which is always 100% accurate and NEVER engages in fear tactics at all.

None of this "tour news" excites me. He makes more money anywhere else than in the US.

the name of prince's tours of late means nada in regards 2 the material he will play ..back in the day prince would actually PLAY SONGS FROM THE ALBUM OF THE TOUR NAME ..those days are gone ever since emancipation which is sad..but then again it's kind of good since 20 ten is lame ..planet earth is lame ..but hey it would be nice to hear him once again go back 2 the formula of playing more current material than old ..yeah good luck on that tho

So, no less a souce than John Blackwell himself says, "...US after that"... hmmmm....

That's a pretty good indicator if you axe me.

Maybe P is saving 20Ten for a US release closer to the tour.

It doesn't make sense not to sell the album in the US but it does make sense to make sure it's not stale by the time he gets back here with the band.

Couldn't agree more with xenophobia2002. Compare the statistics and see, how Europe is much safer place than US. Besides, there is a still difference between the Northern and Southern Europe. For instance, I can't remember any act of terrorism in Scandinavia.

So this is completely ridicilous fear.
