Atlanta 1980 concert First know live recording of Prince. First live document of soon to be one of the biggest crossover stars in America . What do you think of that concert? Line up: Bobby Z :drums keyboards:Gayle Chapman and Matt Fink bass :Andre Cymone Guitars:Prince and Dez .
set list: Soft and Wet Why you Wanna treat me so Bad I FEel 4 U Still Waiting Sexy Dancer I Wanna be your Lover Just as Long as We're together
I think it's AMAZING concert. It's one of the most musician oriented concert by Prince Ever untill the 2002 days. Maybe it was because Prince and the band wanted to out play the main star of the show Rick James but musicianship[ of these kids was on a very high level. That concert have some of the best drumming by Bobby Z much more complex then on Dirty Mind Tour. Andre Cymone's bass is thumping hard and funky and his sound was great . Dez and Prince traded some of the heavist guitar riffs on the extended I Wanna be your Lover and Prince plays very nice guitar solos on Soft and Wet ,Why you Wanna treat me so bad and Just as long as We're together.

Well from listening to the performance and the crowd reaction, I'd say the concert was a hit! Very experimental, maybe partly because since he and his band was the opening for Rick James of all people, this allowed him some leniency to be wild and real, showing his true "rude boy" colors. But yeah, from the tracklisting, it sounds great Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

I crack up every time I hear these lines: "Is everybody wet yet?" "I'm just a freak baby!" "I thank you, my band thanks you, my thank yous thank you!"

A great concert. Especially in the 4DF version which is the best around. Must have for sure.

Yeah, it was quite surprising when he said "is everybody wet?" and quite a few people started sceaming and cheering Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.
